sounds a bit weird but OH and I picked our baby names before we even got married, so when we talk about when we get pregnant (eventually ) and have a baby we call it Michael/Natalie is that really stupid?!

No, i don't think so anyway :)

I suppose it depends how often they get mentioned. As long as you aren't including them in everyday conversation as if they are already there lol

If me and hubby are trying to be hopeful we migh say "we'll get our little <insert name> one day".

yeah we just say it in the context of...

we wont be able to do this when we have little michael/natalie
or
imagine what it is gonna be like with little michael/natalie.

Yeah, I think that's nice :)

Its hopeful.

Plus it let's you hubby get used to the idea of the impending changes without dropping them all on him at once lol

Yeah, we talk about our hypothetical children. OH was looking at a catalogue the other day and they had radio controlled cars and he said something along the lines of 'I can't wait to get one of those for Jack'.

We've talked about them since before we even started trying for them. :)

Same here! We have Cleo for a girl and Jackson for a boy. Although Anoushka pipped the post last week!

Wow, Anoushka is a rather exotic name :) It sound Russian to me, i've always loves something about Russia, but i've never even been lol

I love Russian names, when we have a baby there'll probably be a whole section on the list for Russian-sounding names.

I went to St. Petersburg as part of a school exchange trip when I was about 17/18. We were all staying with different host families and it was incredible the differences in wealth between some people. One of my friends saw her host's parents on the first and last night and the rest of time was with the cook, the house keeper and the tutor. Mine lived in a tiny flat where the parents slept on a fold out bed in the living room.

Incredible place but the drivers are a bit scary.

I spent 3 months in russia. Working in an orphanage! It was shocking and humbling and the kids were great! Did go for the roaches tho

ours is (are) the mole(s) based on the fact we're both so ridiculously short sighted we doubt our kids will be able to see to work out which way's out!!! We figure they'll have to sense it...

OH and I have already decided on a boys name and have a middle name for a girl, we spend hours trying to decided on a first name.... And we're not even trying until the middle of next year lol

We call ours the "bubba", and hubby always says "When we have a bubba..."
We too have been talking about names for about five years!
We're currently on Lacey for a girl and Robin for a boy :)

Loving Cleo though :) x

Oh i like Lacey! There is a Lacey on the forum, it's kind of like the evolution of Gracie and Macie which are pretty huge.

Lacey sound all nice and girly too. Love the name Robin, Men in Tights is hilarious :) (i know you meant the name, but it naturally made me think of Robin Hood)

Would you be surprised if I said I got it from the actress who plays Stacey Slater in Eastenders? I know... I know... I am sad, I love Easties... but I just love the name.

Hubby likes Robin, but I like Sam - hubby is dead against Sam because some bloke he used to work with (who incidentally was a bit of a tool) has a son called Sam...

x

We have our baby names,

Mylo Zachariah
Oscar Clarance
Emilia Jacqueline Lorraine
and
Nyneave hermionie

but would be nice to get just one to start with LOL

I've ALWAYS wanted the name Ava Marie Stables...but OH says it reminds him of Avon (as in makeup) too much lol...
