DIY SWEEP - help

Not asking for help in doing one...

I'm a little stupid when it comes to what one is?? i understand it's when the MW puts a finger into your lady parts but i'm just a bit confussed on how far and what she does then... sorry to come across stupid. i'm booked in for one next week but a few people have mentioned that i should get my husband to do a DIY one... (he's at work so haven't mentioned this to him yet...) Can anyone explain a little more for me....

Hello im new to this forum i have been in summer babies one but noone relipes. I am due to have my 3rd child on august 26th 2006 and i am having the sweep on the 16th, hoping baby comes before that though cause i am getting impatient i have been given the old wives tales as to have currys, sex, pineapple and raspberry leaf tea to help it happen. I had the odd twinge but i think that is braxton hicks. i had my last child 7 yrs ago.

I did a DIY sweep with Jack,

You just go up as far as you can you should feel a lump, if you have dilated any it shoulf have a hole in it, just give it a jiggle do your fingers in circular motions.

Hayley have u had the sweep done yet i heard it not painful just uncomfy and can start labour within 48hrs or longer.

no booked in for one 10th.. hoping that now i have a date i'll relax a little more and my body will do it naturally... i feel so much happier so fingers crossed.

Im glad they gave me a date for my sweep i due on 26th aug but having the sweep on 16th aug, hoping i might go b4 the 16th so i dont have to have it done. fingers crossed for us both.

how come they are doing a sweep before your due? they don't usually do one till your over due.. at my hospital they do it term +10.

Because my last 2 pregnancies went over by 10 days and i think cause last baby weighed 9lb 2.
