Defrosting

I know I'm seeming pretty clueless but it's ok to use the microwave to defrost, right? I'm doing the wee frozen fruits and veg in cubes and will normally have them thaw naturally but if it's taking forever, about 5 seconds in the microwave is ok?

you're not supposed to because it can lose nutrients and cause hot spots, but I do

a quick blast should be ok, i have little pots so the night before i get out the cubes i want put them in the pots pop on the lids and in the fridge hopefully they will thaw by the time i need them!
