Hi I have just started weaning Jake over the last few days. I am going to cook some carrot in a minute, puree it and freeze it in ice cube trays with lids. Does anyone know how long I can keep veg and fruit in the freezer for and when I defrost it do I have to let it thaw on the side or can I pop it straight in the microwave to defrost and heat it. Also if later on I start freezing pureed meals such as meat and potatoes does the same also apply to that. Thanks for your replies in advance.

Oh yeah andf when you puree a vegetable or a fruit on it's own what liquid do you add to it before liquidising to make it puree better?

I did this for my son... it great & so convienient :)
I made sure that anything I froze was comsumed within a few weeks the fruit & veg was kept for a little longer than any meat!
I used a little filtered water to help with liquidise process
As for the defrost process I didn't use microwave to reheat any food or milk i just left it out & covered it up... thats just my way but I don't see any probs with using the microwave to defrost stuf!
Good luck with the weaning hun
