I've had enough.
Im giving up the joints for sure now.
It makes me lazy and costs too much.
Any Ideas on help giving up?

Are there any subatnce misuse teams in your town. Either use google, or ask your Dr for advice. They are really good, will help you to address your drug use and give you relapse prevention strategies. Apart from that I have no other ideas but just wanted to say good luck.

Do you smoke ciggies too?

My OH found the toughest thing about quitting weed was the nicotine addiction.

If you're wanting to stop smoking altogether maybe you could use patches etc?

Yeah I smoke aswell, but i'll try the patches thanks.
There isnt any drug centres near-here.

My Mum ssmoked ciggys for 30 yrs and after 4 failed attempts out of all the products you can get to give up she found the lozenges worked the best and that was like 6 months ago, she hasn't smoked since

Drug centres dont really help with cannabis users because its not seen as an addictive drug, dont ask me why but thats what my OH was told anyway.

My OH quit at new year but carried on smoking cigarettes, he's now quit cigarettes apart from when he's drinking... he's cut it down bit by bit which has worked well for him but I suppose everyone is different.

Good luck :)

Its because marijuna isn't physically addictive like herion but it is mentally........ie the user thinks they need it, but you can have physical withdrawdal symptons depending on your usage. My OH was a heavy daily user for years. He gave up in August of last year for the sake of our unborn son. I'll be honest for the first month he was a bloody nightmare to live with but he soon got it out of his system. He's been trying to quit smoking fags too since Jan, but does smoke a few when he's at work. Use your babies for inspiration. I quit smoking when I was pregnant but whenever I feel like a cigarette now I just look at my beautiful son and remind myself of why I quit. I would hate to miss a moment of his life due to my own poor choices.
Good luck, if my OH can do it anyone can!!

blimey thats a bit bad. Ours do round here but its not seen as a priority. That is really daft considering the mental health risks there are using cannabis.

it made me ill (3 stays in a mental hospital due to a boyf who got me smoking skunk with him) it was hard to say no as I found peer pressure was the hard bit- worrying people thought I was square/uncool etc.

But it made me paranoid most times, and rough feeling the next day, so eventually I stopped and never will touch it again :)

I also think drugs degrade people- think of the people you have to associate with to get them etc. or I once knew some druggies who lived in a squat. Not saying you're like that, but maybe it will help you if you think, you don't want to live a life that's anything like that sort of person. 'Trainspotting'

You have a son and daughter- is smoking pot which may lead to experimenting with other drugs, what you want them to do, and how could you tell them not to if you do it yourself?

Not lecturing, just thinking that these might be things you could say to yourself to encourage you to give up :)

Best wishes
