Council Housing?

here in liverpool its hard too. My friend who had a baby living in a one bed flat with her alcoholic mother didnt get a house for 3++ years, and even then it was only when she moved out into a hostil for weeks and weeks.

It sucks up here too. Our house, which we rented privately, burnt down two years ago, leaving us homeless. We went to the council the next day in our smoky blackened clothes...all we had left was what we were wearing...and they said we would have to pay for a B&B and then apply for the money back. If we could have afforded that, then obviously I wouldn't have gone there in the first place. Muppets.

We got the highest amounts of points possible, plus 1, because our family was gonna be split up. DH was going to stay at his parents and Jonah and I were going to stay at mine. We could have all stayed together at either place but I wouldn't stay there,(5cats and smokers :puke: ) and it was too far for DH to travel to work from mine, so we said that neither of them had room for us all.

So despite having nothing, including no house insurance, (DH had not paid it and thought it wouldn't matter :x ) we qualified for NOTHING. It took them over 2 months to offer us a place I wouldn't bury a dog, and wouldn't even give us an emergency loan. WFT is an emergency if not that??? Thank God for friends and family. I got another private rent, which I love even though almost everything I own is 2nd hand. I know we will get there...and I think you value what you have more, if you have to work for it.

The whole thing annoys the sh1te outta me. I know people in lovely council houses in Hexham who get every damned thing paid for and we couldn't get a thing. :(

It's not like I wanted the moon on a stick...I just wanted a safe roof over our heads.
