Hi ladies
I have some holidays from work on the 10 th september & oh & I could do with a holiday. If he doesn't have much work on we have decided we would like a break in the sun. Does anyone have any recommendations for where to find last minute deals? I guess our budget is about £300/£400 each. We want to go somewhere hot for up to a week. We are not huge fans of 'package holidays' but if we get a good deal we would be thrilled with one. Any tips or advice much appreciated! xx

Look at all thd static caravans like key camp, campus etc. can get great caravans for £200 for the week. Some really good offers on. Then cheap flights. We went to France s couple of months ago and then got really cheap deal to Italy in few weeks. We just looked for cheap flights using sky scanner and money saving expert. Then once got cheap flights found nearest decent site. They are amazing sites.

Thanks ladies! All look really promising! I'm gonna have to be super nice to oh when he gets home later and convince him. With those prices though I'm hoping it won't be too difficult. I really really hope he hasn't been asked to work much that period xx

Cheers Humsey. So far whenever I see a good offer it's not available at that price for the dates I'm looking for! Fingers crossed though :)

oh crap. well the price on there u usually have to add bags and transfers pp. but usually orks out still good price xx

I've used ice lolly before and they're very good. Holidays to tunisia are cheap and very cheap once you are there. Xx I've been 7 times

Thank you ladies! At the moment I'm looking at 7 nights in Santorini in Greece which is £359 each for 7 nights from Gatwick staying in sc apartments. I'm sure we could get cheaper destinations but would be so lovely if we could go here. I went to a neighbouring Greek island last summer with girlfriends & I remember thinking I'd love to go to Santorini with OH. It looks so pretty and romantic! And its not expensive once your there either.i asked oh last night if we could afford that & he pretty much said life is for living! Really hope that attitude lasts & he says the same this evening! It's been a shitty year so would be lovely to have a holiday like this. I better not get my hopes up but it's looking promisung! I'm going to cook his favourite dinner tonight to put home in an exra good mood. Thanks again xxx

I think that is actually quite a good deal for Santorini hun?

It's not as built up / touristy as some of the other Greek islands so there are not as many flights that go over.... hence the costs are higher.

Same with Kefalonia (which is my all time fave Greek Island!)

xxxxxxx

Yeah, I think it's a fab deal too-We just need to work out if we can actually afford that much. Accommodation is a basic self catering apartment but for that price you really can't knock it and it looks more than adequate. I've heard it's really pretty and not as built up before which is what appealed to me-Have you been? I didn't realise Kefalonia was also not very built up....Will look into that too then!
The thing is we haven't really saved/planned for a holiday. We just realise we have the time off & could kind of do with a break. So it is a case of sitting down, being realistic & seeing if we can actually afford to go away. We have a big relocation planned (Moving to Ireland) & are ttc so we need to try & be sensible. But I really want a holiday!

Oooh have a look at Zante, of you look for Tsilivi or Alykanas it's quieter but so beautiful! I saw a week all inclusive for £179 there in thomas cook the other day, a last minute deal. If you have a Thomas cook by you they usually have some fab deals in store x

Love, Jugs x

I've not been to Santorini BUT it is next on my list....

Kefalonia is amazing, we've been a few times.

You can try some of the more popular islands but look for quieter resorts - that may bring the costs down?

xxxxxxxx

I went to Santorini a few years ago, it was stunning. You'll love it!

Santorini is one of the most popular Greek destinations. It's a little more expensive than other islands and it's more a romantic place than non stop clubbing and alcohol binging. That makes it less attractive destination to some tourists but among Greek people is probably the most popular choice for couples of our age

Hey ladies. well finally decided yesterday over dinner we could afford to go away. Yeah! I spent all of this morning going over websites and nearly made myself blind! We are now leaning towards Egypt believe it or not!. Purely because it's guaranteed sunshine and we found an amazing deal for a 5 star hotel which has a gym & spa. I know it's very touristy but the luxury is so tempting. It's £540 on a bed & brekfast basis including flights & transfers from Gatwick. Will keep you posted!

Holiday to Egypt all booked and sorted! Cannot wait for the break. So exited!
Thank you everyone for all of your tips and advice xxx
