changing unit or no changing unit?

I have always kept the changing mat under the sofa in the lounge and pull it out when I need it. I keep the nappies and stuff in a basket, those units seem to take up so much room!

I have a unit and wouldn't have been without it.
Will have one for next baby too.

I asked this question a while back. I thought we needed a good changing unit but OH thought it was a waste of money. we comprimised in the end and got this clicky which is easy to use and quick to put on the cot

Rubys nursery is tiny box room so we didnt have space for changing unit..we got a cot top changer for about £20 in Mothercare, it has bult up sides to stop her rolling off into cot (although at the mo she squirms and tries to roll into cot, have to change her with one hand pinning her legs down a the mo!!!) It has been brillant, highly recommended.

We have a changing mat downstairs which we use for the occasional change on the pouffee, but to be onest its easier to take her upstairs.

The changer comes off and stores behind her door.

Im a floor changer! ive got a wee gym to stick above him that he talks/plays with sometimes.

i bought a changing unit but never used it i much prefer using the small changing mat and putting it on the bed
i mainly use mine just for storage

Rather than spending alot on a big unit that u will only get a certain amount of use out of while baby is young , go for a cot top changer. I have one in white wood to match the cot perfectly. It sits on the cot and works perfect.

Until baby can roll it can be back breaking havingto kneel over all the time to change ur baby on the floor so this allows u to stand up straight and save ur back . Also it can be stored away easily when ur done, or left on the cot and takes up no unneccsary room in ur nursery. plus only about £20!

I use it for changing, baby massage, top n tailing and allsorts!

:D

I've never actually used one as just felt safer on the floor. However we do actually have the IKEA one in our 7 year old daughters bedroom and she folds it out and sits on a stool to do her homework so I figure that ones a pretty good investment for years to come :D
