Carrying your pregnancy notes?

err no i dont take mine anywere lol never have done either just midwife appointment ect

i only ever take mine to an appointment. will start taking them now though as not long to go. i also keep mine in the white bounty folder that it all came in at booking in appointment. xxx

I havent even got any! Take itI I'll get them in tri 3? Prob only carry them when I go away, don't even remember having any when I had my daughter but that was 14 years ago!

I think you are supposed to get them at your 12 week scan? your midwife will have filled them out in your booking in appt at 8 weeks then she will have sent them off to the hospital so they can update their system etc so they are usually ready for you to have back by your 12 week scan, as I had a private scan at 12 weeks (our nhs doesnt do nuchal transclucency) I got mine when I was 13 weeks as I was in the antenatal clinic for a consultant appt. I would have thought if you havent been given them by now I would chase with your midwife as your supposed to bring them to every appt (total pain!!!)

strange I havent got any then, you only get a 12 week and 24 week appointment here so maybe I'll get them at the 24 week appointment. there were notes at my scan but I didn't get to take them away, I had that before my booking in app! Oh well I'm not too worried just now! Maybe they don't give them out here, everything else seems so different to everyone else!

Very strange! My booking in appointment with midwife was based around my notes!! Very strange!! Xx

Mine was too, I've had them right from the very beginning, hence getting a folder for them as they're getting so tatty!

I was only thinking about that on the way to work this morning. I dont want to carry it with me everywhere cause it's too big and it'll get messed up real quick. So I figured i'd photocopy the four or five main pages (double sided) and fold them up in my bag. A lot of the pages don't seem to have been used in there. I may even scan it to myself so i can forward to someone to print out...but I may be getting ahead of myself there....x

Mine are in a nice folder, am not booked in with my local hospital, and my midwife commented at my booking in appointment how my chosen hospital must be posh because of the fancy folder.

Have a massive handbag (getting ready for taking baby bits everywhere) I don't take mine everywhere, but take them with me when I'm travelling out of our town just in case. Don't take them with me to Tesco or anything, are we meant to?

I don't carry mine around, and I never did with brooke! I'm never really far from my house (exciting life I lead) so I know I would pretty much have time to go get them if I needed! Xx

I dont carry my notes and didn't with my first, my mw told me it wasn't necessary, as long as they weren't too hard to get ahold of, the furthest I go from home is to work which and I could easily get someone to pick them up.

But I went on hol last week and took them and i'll take them anywhere I go thats a distance away. I'm going to stay with my gran in July for a week its about 2 hours drive from home..i'll take them then.

I so never knew this! I'll be taking mine out with me now! I have one of those biggish bags so they'll fit in there instead of my magazines.

I forgot to take mine to my first scan :wall2: but have remembered ever since. Dont tend to take them with me everywhere I go, not a bad idea though, think I will start doing this. But I did take them when we went on holiday back in Feb.

I only take my notes with me to appointments. I don't think they contain much useful info anyway, apart from the fact that I'm pregnant (which is becoming quite noticable anyway).

I guess in some cases it could be more important to carry the notes - for example if they contained any special allergy or important illness info.

I got mine at my booking in appointment and my mw insisted they needed to be with me at all times incase anything happened, including being in an accident or something so hospitals/doctors etc would know of any important info. Although mine used to be kept in my car, now they're at home on the kitchen table all the time....

xxx

I take mine everywhere, annoying though as I can never use my smaller handbags! Mine are folded in half once then kept in a plastic wallet thing with a snap which I got from a stationary shop. Also keep in there a record of next midwife appointments/scans and some maternity pay info/leaflets x x

I now have pregnancy notes! The hospital gave them to me yesterday when I was taken in for kidney stones!

Yay for the notes but you poor thing having kidney stones! Hope you feel better soon x x

Glad you got your notets hun but i sympathies with you about the kidney stones and the pain they give (i found that pain worse than labor)
Hope you are feeling better soon
