So my little boy is just coming up for 4 weeks old and from 2 days old he has been formula fed. I tried to breastfeed him for the first 2 days but due to me having breast reduction surgery I was unable to produce any milk at all, absolutely nothing came out and my little boy became very dehydrated and i had no choice but to start him on formula milk.
anyway now nearly 4 weeks later I have noticed that while I am in the bath or shower or when I stimulate my breasts some milk has started to come out
Can I start breastfeeding my little boy now? Should I buy a pump to help increase my supply and monitor what if any milk I can produce? Is it beneficial to breastfeed now after being on formula milk for the past 4 weeks?

I would certainly try if its what you want to do. My younest didnt latch on till 3 weeks and after 3 weeks of bottles he managed just fine. Not sure bout going out and buying a pump...can you maybe borrow one? Just needs sterilised first, and see how you go before spending pennies? Good luck x

you can try, you night not be able to ebf but any breastmilk will contain antibodies and thats the main benefit to our babies really

Yes it is completely possible. It might take some hard work but if you are determined it can be done. Spend as much time as possible with LO at the breast. If he will do it for hrs that would be perfect for stimulating your milk.
