can you lose weight without much exersise?

the reason i ask is that i want to lose a stone or maybe more. but at the moment i cant even walk very far because of my back. If i just start to eat more sensibly, would i still lose a bit?
 
Yes :D

It would be a slightly slower process but you would still lose weight. Healthy eating is a major factor in weight loss. If you just exercised you would only lose around 2lb a month. It takes a lot of exercise to work off 500 calories. It is so much easier to just not eat them!
But exercise (and muscle mass) increase your metabolism so even when you are just sitting after exercise you will continue to burn more calories. And obviousy its great for your overrall health.

How about some gentle swimming hun, its non-weight-bearing so it might help :D
