Can' help but feel unorganized and unprepared

Hi All,

Im currently 26+1 wks and i can't stop thinking about how unprepared and unorganized i feel at the moment.. proberly good old hormones doing this to me!

I've seen my midwife at the regular intervals but i still feel like we haven't dicussed things that we should be doing at this stage... I did ask her and she just told me that we dont need to talk about that stuff till im further gone and for me not to worry about it- maybe im worrying too much seems this is my first baby, but we havent really talked about which hospital im going to deliver my girl, a birthing plan, pain relief, antinatal appointments etc etc etc

Also, as for the nursery, i havent even started painting it, i've got no nursery furniture or anything!

I've brought loads of baby clothes so thats sorted and a few other bits (bouncer chair, play mat, some newborn toys, steraliser kit, moses basket, bibs)... but still no cot or travel system and other essentials.

I just feel prehaps im being abit too laid back with it all and that i should start getting my arse into gear abit? - is anyone else the same as me that are due about the same date as me, or are you all prepared and ready?!

Also, When should i have a hospital bag all ready for, just in case?!

Am i paniking too much too soon???!?

This is my 4th and I'm not at all prepared like I was wiv the others. I did make a list the other day and am gonna try and get a few bits every week if I can. Hospital bag doesn't need to b done til 32 + weeks,the mist I've done is thought about which bag I'm gonna use lol.

As for birth plan etc,it's usually done at 34ish weeks were I live,antenatal classes aren't offered in my area although parentcraft is...I won't b attendin this time although I'm hopin to get a hospital tour nearer the time xxx

I know how you feel, It's been 8.5 years since I had a baby so I feel a bit more like a first timer again.
I had a wobble about feeling out of control and so I washed my baby clothes and loosley packed my bags at weekend, and do you know it felt great to get that done. I have got a pushchair as my sister gave it too me, also a moses basket, not got much bedding tho, and baby has no bedroom to go to,or place to put his drawers. but just doing the bag and having babygrows ready , i feel great . Just need to check it again later on and get nursing bras nearer the time when bigger boobs! and find my thin dressing gown and I'm done - ahh lovely.

Make a start on one big thing like pushchair and then your will start feeling like your getting there

try not to worry so much trust me you have ages lol and you sound as if you have all the essentials in so relax lol xx

with my 1st i was that unprepared it was riduculas, i had the pram because my mum bought it me, i had a cot because the other nan bought it. I had some baby clothes too, I was 37 weeks and 6 days i think and my waters were trickling went to hospital and they sent me back home saying they thought baby may have put a little hole in sac with finger nail and when he moved bits of waters were leaking, so sent me home i met my mum for lunch next day she asked me if i had my bag packed eerrrhhh no was my answer she asked me if i had nappies i said no wipes no, breastpads no, then sanitry towels what did i need them for lol my mum had to explain to me i would bleed for a few weeks straight after, talk about not prepared I packed my bag when i got home then waters went whoosh, so basically got essentials the day before i had him lol.
with this little one we have alot of things in because our youngest is only 9 months old even though i wasn't having anymore so did give away the baby swing and some clothes was just about to give some other stuff away when i found out, but hubby just said to me then ask your friend if she wants the baby bath, moses basket and playmats, then we can sort some extra space out, i just had to remind him we will need them lol unless he planning on buying brand new which i aint. he said oops i forgot we were having another. e's sorting extra space out because we having another baby the dozy bugger.
