Bump seems smaller? Help?

My bump seems to have got smaller, Ive noticed it today. Perhaps its my imagination too but I've felt quite damp 'down there' in the mornings and at times during the day too so now Im starting to think about fluid leakage? Am I being paranoid? I don't believe that it smells like urine either because thats unmistakeable..I might put a pad on and see what happens.

I dont know what the occurence of this type of thing is and whether I ought to be concerned or worried or see the midwife?

Anyone got any ideas?

Maybe bubs has moved position making your bump a different shape? Unfortunately I've been feeling a bit damp for a long while, not any amount of 'fluid' per se, and no def not urine! I was putting it down to changes in hormones. No harm in putting your mind at ease with a call to the MW if you think it's more than that though

Mmm yes, I might go and see her. In the mornings its quite damp, at first I thought it was but sweat after noticing the bump Im not so sure. I hope I am being paranoid and its nothing to worry about. I know that discharge can get watery too? Gonna have to go to bed I think to stop thinking about it! xx

I suppose you might be able to tell by the smell (sorry!). I just googled what does amniotic fluid smell like and apparently it's very different to urine. I remember on one born every minute the midwife smelt one of the ladies pads as she said the smell was quite distinct.

Sounds like you've had such a long day, see what it's like in the morning and as you say, no harm in phoning (as I always say) that's what they get paid for

Hope your okay RM - you should defo see what mw says. Would say that it coud just be babe moving around, i know my bump hasn't seemed to have grown much but i know thats cos babe has gone head down. Someone described the smell of atomic fluid as smelling like bleach today - i've always had mine go just b4 birth so i don't know! Let s know how you get on xx

Its definitely smaller, Im not sure whats going on! I will phone the midwife this morning to see if I can get in to see her.

It might be just the way the baby is lying, maybe bubs has been a bit comfy lying further down? Either way i think its best to check out if your worried.

Mm thanks! I can feel bubs high up and to the right, a bum or a head perhaps, the whole bump seems to have shrunk, its very weird.

When I was 27 weeks I was convinced my bump was smaller too. I kind of looked down and it seemed to be flatter and squidgier! I think it was the way the baby was lying tho. definately made up for it now!!

im like you and ave a bigger bump for my dates and sometimes feel like its not as big some days as others but i think it is just baby moving and when it is in different places it makes my bump look bigger and smaller

just to update if she hasnt elsewhere. Rosies mummy has been admitted as the midwife also thinks shes leaking fluid. She's going to keep in touch with text updates so Ill keep you posted xx
