Breast V Bottle

i have not even bought bottles or anything.. perhaps i should.. ive just been so sure that i will do it no matter what.. easier said then done prob.

Nor did I the first time round! It was a case of running into Babies 'R Us on the way home from the hospital at 9pm!!

I really think I may just buy some from the offset this time round. The thought of it makes me a bit panicky to be honest and feel much more relaxed about bottle feeding!

Breast is obviously the natural way to do it, not speaking from experience but i have heard of rubber bottle ends that you can place over the nipple (for example if the nipple is flat or if while breast feeding the nipple is sore). Also you can tell if the baby is getting enough milk because he or she will make a gurgling sound as the milk is passing down his or her throat. Also they should just slide off the breast when they have had enough and shouldn't cry if not hungry anymore. Hope this helps :)

Ohhh and the happy grunting noises they make when they feed makes it all worth it lol x

i think its a personal choice i bottlefed my eldest 2 but breat fed my next 2 for 7 weeks then with my 5th i fed him for 7 months, i think alot of it depends on baby my last baby just knew exactly what to do and i had no problems, those first few weeks they do feed alot but that is to get your milk supply in, then once its established its alot easier, i breast fed personnaly from a lazy point of veiw with him being my 5th i just couldn't be bothered with the getting out of bed in the night to get a bottle, so just put baby next to me and he helped himself, then i had the energy for my other children next day. i did express though for when out and about which he took fine except for once when i hadn't expressed enough and me and my friends all put menus up in a row so i could feed him, without anyne seeing once he was latched we moved away all the menu's because i had learnt to feed discreetly just couldn't put baby on to the breast discreetly.
