Im having a baby boy, me and OH really disagree when it comes to boys names. The only name we can agree on so far is Oscar! It is growing on me and i am getting used to it, but do u think it sounds like a dogs name?

I love Oscar! I think that human names are used as pet names a lot so any name could hypothetically sound pet like iykwim. We had Max on our short list for DS which is a common dog name but that wouldn't have stopped us using it x

Its hard to choose names when i prefer more traditional and OH likes modern, different names. His no1 choice was Trent which i point blankly refused!

Trent is not a nice name - I am with you on that !!!

I am not a huge fan of Oscar either but not because it sounds like a "dogs" name.

I must prefer it to Trent though

xxxxxxxxxx

I don't see Trent as being a modern name! I also don't like it x
We did struggle a bit as I wasn't a massive fan of strongly traditional names and wanted a more unusual, less used name. We finally settled on an 'old-fashioned' name that wasn't widely used around here.
What do you think of Oliver?

Oliver was my original choice but OH doesnt like it. We are a nightmare with names! I just hate Trent, especially as we live right next to the river trent.x

I like Oscar, but I do think its quite popular at the moment. Obviously dont let that stop you if you like it! x

Oscar is a lovely name. My OH also went down a ridiculous route which i refused... TRAFFORD!! As he supports Man u...lmao xxx

I adore Oscar and it was on mine but oh said no. We ended up with Dexter as our boys choice which I love and would use but having a girl!

I was told a few weeks ago my deceased great auntie (drunken local pest god bless her!!!!) Had a dog called Dexter! Woops-id forgot but wouldn't put me off at all.

My cat is called George and I love that name too! :) don't let anyone put u off-cause lots of people have opinions! I have been asked if I'm joking when I say our baby is Daisy Grace. I always say the same answer, 'well aint it a good job we aren't all the same!' Haha!

Got to agree ladies tho-Trent and Trafford....eeeek. Xx

I love Oscar but it's my cats name otherwise I'd have had it!

Oscar will be on our list. We struggle to agree on boys names - didn't have one lined up first time but luckily we had a girl. Would love a little boy but the name is going to be a challenge.....

I love Oscar name but not in favore to pick this name. Its very common name.

I love Oscar as a boy's name! I live in a road with Oscar in the name though, so might be a weird to name a son Oscar too?!
Also, my name was chosen and my Dad was really against it as my uncle's dog was called Sophie. It never bothered me though!
