Blood Tests

I have been given a list of blood tests that I have to have taken in order to complete the testing process with the fertility clinic... mine are free as I can have them through my GP but OH doesnt have social security here so we will have to pay for him. We have just been quoted 150€ (private) for his tests!! Has anyone else paid for private blood tests and how much were they! God this is a really expensive (but quick) way of doing things!

sorry honey we haven't paid for ours as such, we had some done through the GP and now we are paying an IVF package so it isn't broken down as to what goes where....but if you like I can find out. which tests is it he needs?

Hi Chelliboo and thanks for the reply... he needs:-

HIV.1.2
HCV
HBs Ag (this may be the spanish version of Hepatitus B, not sure)
RPR
GRUPO Y Rh (i think this is the blood group and Rhesus)

I have to have the same bloods taken but i can have mine on the "spanish" NHS

Ok here goes

HIV, HepB (HBsAg same thing)/HepC - £110 total

bloodgroup - £38

RPR is a syphilis test isn't it, they don't appear to have a price for that but would imagine its similar to HIV etc so 1/3 of £110 would be £35 ish

so thats a total of £183 give or take (or 232 euro at current exchange rate)

hope that helps. It is expensive isn't it. we are spending a fortune on private treatment but it'll be worth it in the end
