Bleeding at 10 weeks... help please!

Hi everyone

I am 10 weeks and yesterday noticed quite a lot of blood in my knickers (it had seeped through to my jeans a little bit too) when I went to the loo at about 4pm. There was also blood when I wiped for about 5-6 times. It was like I had started my period and just not got there in time.

I went to the gynae clinic at my hospital and they did a scan on my tummy but they said they couldn't see anything because it was too far away (10 weeks can be too early for a tummy scan apparently?), and they didn't have anyone there that could do an internal scan to see properly what was going on.

I can't get a scan at the EPU until Wednesday and am so scared. I haven't had any bleeding since that one time yesterday, and have not been in any pain.

Has anyone been through something similar? I want to prepare myself for the worst but also want to hope for the best....

hiya, hope your ok, i didnt have this problem but didnt want to read and run. bollocks about 10 weeks being too early! hopefully you will get it sorted on wednesday, just ring nhs direct if you have questions, they are really good x

They should b able to see somethin at 10 weeks...I had a massive bleed,similar to wot u've described wen I was 17 weeks wiv my last pregnancy and everythin was fine. Hope everythin is ok 4 u xx

A very close friend of mine bled all the way through her first trimester. They didn't know why but it eventually stopped. I know its easy to say but try not to worry.

I hope you manage to get everything sorted hun, keep nagging them until you get that scan, dont leet them fob you off xxx

Oh hun, I had two pregnancys with red bleeds, one was totally fine, the other not, so hang in there is doesn't always mean the worst at all.

10 weeks is not early for a tummy scan at all, you are best to see the EPU on wed, if you get any mor blood , then I would just turn up at the EPU and and grovel, sure they will see you, EPU's are lovely, and used to worried mums to be.

Will have everything crossed for you on wednesday, try and take it easy till then

Hope everything goes ok on Wednesday - im sure everything will be fine - Ditto what the other ladies have said 10 weeks isnt too early had a ultrasound last monday at 8 weeks and 5 days and saw baby and heartbeat fine - insist it you get sorted and know whats happening xox

Good luck on Wednesday. I've had two bleeds during this pregnancy at 6 and 8 weeks. I was scanned by the EPU and all was fine.

Its worrying, I know. Deep breaths.

Thanks for all your lovely messages everyone. Unfortunately we went for the scan at the EPU yesterday and they confirmed our worst fears that there is now no heartbeat. I'm going in for the operation tomorrow to have everything taken away.

We're obviously very very sad, but will deal with it in time.
