I kind of agree spinneygirl but I've always told myself that if people on fb dont want to know my good new then they should just defriend me as they aren't my real friends if they just think I am bragging. After I had Ella I put a status that I'd be updating with a lot of photos and news about her and if people didn't want to see it then defriend me. I don't want 'friends' who would resent me being happy. I in turn despite my recent losses don't feel resentful to others who are now announcing they are 3-4 months - where I should have been. I feel a little sad for myself of course but they are my friends and I want good things for them.

I have 6 kiddies im not on benefits and my kids are very well behaved i am a fab mum and provide a very loving home. I know how to close my legs i just chose to have a big family.

Ditto! I've got 4 and I would rather do anything than open my legs!!!! x

I put my news on fb because I was excited too. I don't think it's tacky but hey each to ther own. Like Annie sed .. If people don't want to share my good news and are offended by my happiness then de friend is an easy option.

I advertise my doll making on facebook and as most of my customers are usa/canada it will be the one place I definitely announce it. Plus I have a lot of family that aren't close by on there and its easier than sorting through email addresses. Anyone who doesn't like it can get stuffed

i didnt announce anything on fb lol. my mum told ppl and they commented on things asking how far gone i was etc. i put my scan pic up so that relatives that live far away could see it as i know they are excited for me too. im just not into the whole share my life with the world kinda thing that a lot of ppl do on fb

I think fb is a great place to announce pregnancies, like others say I'd you don't like it defriend them,
It a social network where u go to keep in touch with friends if like me I moved 40 odd miles away after college (not far but far enough) I love reading updates,
Don't get me wrong i have a little jealousy when I see a mate from school/college uploading scan pics an my babies progress week ** but I am so happy for them,

I think now you can control who can see your status a lot more tightly then you can announce pregnancies to just the people you want to know on FB.

If you combine that with the list function (for example, I have a list for people who I want to see my wedding planning bits) you can ensure people who you want to be able to discuss it/see discussions can, and those who don't (like acquaintances, old school friends etc) can't.

Personally, I wouldn't announce on FB but it's just my preference for old school paper announcements and such.
