are they essential?? i had mine all written out with katie, but this time i keep stopping and starting. i'm just a bit like, well what will happen will happen. and i know at my hosp, they will ask you before doing anything and talk you thru evrything.

so is it really essential, or can i just go in and go with the flow??

It might be an idea to have some stuff written down just incase for any reason you're not able to speak up? If last time they always asked permission before doing anything though it's prob not essential to write a full one, maybe just key points of anything you definitely do/don't want? xx

i wrote one hon, but tbh it was never read, and she told me that, and kept asking me things and i was just happy to go with the flow, which was just as well as maddi had some very strange ideas! i agree with katy, perhaps write down your key points hon :) x
like, injection for placenta? or vitamin injection?

yea i might just get the key bits down. when they read my last one they said it was all pretty mcuh what they do anyway as standard procedure. and nothin's changed this time, cept i had a huge tear with katie!!

will probs go into labour and be like, shit i need to write one!!

I wasnt going to do one with Hebe but I am so glad I did. They stuck to it to the letter. I suppose it depends if you have any strong feelings about certain things. I knew I didnt want OH down the business end. I knew I wanted to go on a birthing stool. I DEFINITELY didnt want to have an epi EVEN if I started asking for one I wanted distracting/lying to etc to stop me! They stuck to it all and I got the birth I wanted :D

i ve never done one as they always ask me things to make sure its what i want.

the only thing i was angry about was kenzie was out that quick they just cut the cord and picked him up but i wanted my dh to do that and was really angry cause it was his first. hopefully he will get to do it this time

I've never done a birth plan, i just go with the flow. My last labour was lovely and i'd like my next one to be the just the same but nature doesn't follow a plan iykwim!

Here's a plan for you Alice.....drop the sprog already, i'm soooooo excited!! xx

 toonlass!! she's got to stay in for a bit, i'm too ill to be having a baby right now!!

i'm pretty flexible with things really, like i really want a water birth, but i know it wont defo be possible. so i'm keepin an open mind. and i want to last as long as poss on g&a as i can.

the one thing i'm finding weird is, i'm expecting to have a really long labour again, i'll find it so strange if its only a couple of hours long!!

My first labour was looooong like 36 hours but my second popped out in only 5 hours of active labour, i only had gas and air coz there wasn't time for anything else lol.

Why are you poorly, whats up? xx

have got a stinking cold, its proper nasty!! was it odd it happening so quick 2nd time? i think i just had so much time to get my head around the fact it was actually happening (23 hours), that the thought of having her quicker is just weird! i just dont see how it can happen so quick

it was a bloody shock! I wanted the epi just for the delivery as he was sunny side up but he just shot out so quick! I admit i had a panick attack because i went from 5cm's, watters bust to pushing in about 30 seconds! This time i am prepared for a bullet flying out lol

Hope your cold clears up hunny xx

thanks hun!

my mum was only an hour and a half with my sister, i cant possibly imagine that!!

I didn't have one as I didn't know what to expect and didn't want to be diapointed by not sticking to it. The only thing I did want was him putting straight on my chest and hubbie to cut the cord. Much to his inital disgust

I don't really know what to expect, and havn't decided on doing a birth plan or not.. I don't want a birthing pool or anything.. Just as long as I have OH I think I will be okay? Well thats at the minute, maybe I'll change my mind once I'm on my way to the delivery suite lol..
