Birth Photography

Hello everyone,

First of all let me just say that this is NOT an advert and Im not advertising or promoting myself or my services in any way. I am, however, a photographer and am wondering whether birth photography is something you would consider? Again, I do not own a business, so I am not trying to sell anything, only asking whether women are interested in this? I am very keen to hear what you have to say.

I do photography as a hobby and I'm looking for women who would be willing to have the birth of her child documented, for free

If I have another Im considering getting a friend to photograph it all. I think it'd be great as I've seen some beautiful birth photographs. Home births usually work better.

I think it's a lovely thought. Photos can tell a great story, but I personally don't think I would feel comfortable with someone I don't know taking the photos. For me it would have to be a family member that would promise to stay quiet and not get in the way, they would somehow have to make themselves go unnoticed lol

I don't think I could have someone I didn't know in there while I was in labour all I wanted was my oh and in fact my hospital only allows one person in the delivery room with you . I must admit that I do wish I have some photos though

we took photos throughout labour.and his birth but i wouldn't.want someone else taking them.

The only people who are going to see me like that is my hubby (cause he put me there) and the 2 midwives. Sorry, it's not something I would like to have done.

me neither I dont mind hubby or midwife taking fotos like strai (like a couple very first shots hubby with minion,me wi minion and the two of us wi minion) after the birth but most fotos will be like Cos said when Im looking less sweaty, less out of puff and when Ive had a chance to run a brush through ma hair and a cloth over ma face xx

If anyone even dared consider coming near me with a camera while I'm in labour, I'd shove it so far up their ass that they'd think THEY'RE in labour!
I'm also a photographer, and wouldn't offer this as one of my services. But each to their own!

I wouldn’t want anyone taking a photo of me to be honest, I possible would have 1 photo of baby being held up as soon as it is born but that is about it!

Like AugustMum I have seen some beautiful home birth photographs (nothing explicit) but I can’t see how this would work within a hospital with all the machines and wires….don’t think it would look as nice and artistic as the home ones.

Me neither!
I think it sounds a nice idea in principle but it reality the thought of a stranger (or anyone else for that matter!) taking photo's of me in labour? Hell no!

Those pics are beautiful, but as others have said I looked nothing like that Haha!
I wouldn't want anyone but fmily there, and oh would never allow another man even if i wanted too!
I was exausted , looked terrible and damaged a nerve in my hand so couldn't hold my baby properly so no don't think its a good idea to do buisness in birth photography solely!
