I no im thinking ahead but any one given birth alone. I had a partner until a week ago but he is no longer around. My first daughter has epilepsy and other extra needs and medication, only person that can look after her is my mum. I have one friend asked her as she has a little one she said she may be there but changed mind. So looks like I will be doing it alone. Had a horrible first birth and daughter was prem so worried.Any one else been in same position x

Cant really help but didnt want to read and run. I am sorry to.hear about your OH, will he be on the scene, maybe he can look after L?
There are couple of ladies who did it alone i think.

Tapatalking so cant see signatures

Don't want to go in to details but due to his actions towards me and little one he isn't allowed to, he hasn't seen her in a week. Not even had a text to see if she is ok, she had a important EEG never even contacted us then :(

If there is no-one else would it be worth hiring a doula? I have no idea how much they cost though x

I know my hospital now provides doulas for free, maybe worth asking your mw hun? I am so sorry its come to this. X

Big hug hun, i cant evem begin to imagine. Pretty much you.can request one at my hospital now(i.think they brought it in so births are less medicalised).
Can be worth asking mw

What do they do Hun?

I'm so sorry uv been left in this situation, must be awful. Any other family members? Aunt? Grandmother? X

Wow what hospital are you at Knopk@??

Doula's are very expensive (so are private MW's though!!)

Jazz, whilst it is not ideal the MW's that look after you on the day will do a stellar job and I would try not to worry too much. Easy for me to say I know...

xxxxxxx

Chelsea and Westminster, it wasnt there in 2011 so quite new. I read about it online tbh. Not sure how many hospitals do it

They are trained in being birth partners. They know all the relaxation techniques and work as a go between you and the midwife. They help keep you to the.birth plan you would like x

Tapatalking :-D Can't see tickers...

After what happened at last birth I find it very hard to put my trust in them. Will talk to midwife and see what options there are. I don't have close family just my parents.

this also might sound a bit out there but could you not see if theres a student mw whi could birth partner you!!? u could conyact a local uni or speak to the hosp.....it might be nice if theres someine there who could help explain be cheaper than a doila and the student qould see it as invaluable experience. a labour from beginning to end?!? xx

There are funds that you can access towards the cost of Doula's and also mentored doulas (training) are usually substantially cheaper too x
