hi i had my dd 15 years ago she was my 2nd baby and her labour was quick and easy, im now expecting my 3rd and i know labours are supposed to be easier the more you have but does that still count with such a big age gap or do i go back to a 'first' hard labour.

I'm not sure as I have had mine close and they have all got faster. but my mam had her 4 th 14 years after she had us 3 and she said it was her worse Labour but I must point out he was 10lb 7oz, the mw did tell her a change in partner can make a difference to labour she had my little brother to somebody else, us 3 where to my dad xxxxx

my first was horrible labour, my second was easy and quick, this is my third and im having nightmares about it to be honest, ive convinced myself this labour will be the worst lol x

I've been wondering about this too as my daughter was a quick easy (well as easy as labour can be!) 4 hour labour and she's 14 1/2 now so wonder if it is true, I really hope so! Keep thinking that being so much older my body won't cope as well though as I was much fitter in my twenties than thirties!

sarah13 thats my worry i think im older now 37 and maybe my bosy will of forgot ive had 2 other kids and make labour like a first time baby

im praying it will be quick x x

your a couple of weeks ahead of me so im gonna rely on you lol xxx

Im hoping its easier! It'll be a 7 yr gap for mine and before that it was 5 yrs, my first lasted 29 hrs second was 12hrs 51 mins so anything shorter is a blessing!!

Im dreading the after pains x

I'll let you know how it goes unless I'm late and your early then you can let me know!

My youngest brother is 16 years older than me, mum's labours got faster and faster. I came so quickly that apparently the midwives called me bullet.

I have 7 yr gaps between my 3 boys. My first was an easy labour, 1hr 90m! My 2nd took 4hrs and had a good labour. My 3rd was 2 hrs and was the most painfull! Out of all my babies the 2nd (the longest labour) he was the heaviest. I think the 3rd was so painfull as i had gone so long without pain relief in the beginning and gone from 6-10cm in 5 mins!

I have never had after pains with any of mine, my 3rd was painful but fast in the hospital 3 mins before he was born with one push I was still dressed with my leggings around my ankles lol

i didnt get after pains either, x

I got after pains with my second, begged for something stronger than paracetamol x
