Been to A&E

Hi guys,
I started having spotting dark red/brown blood at around 12 this afternoon and called oh home to go to A&E after a very long wait and and blood taking I was seen. The nurse, or whoever I saw, did some very hard prodding of my lower abdomen which alarmed me a bit and told me that because it wasn't too heavy and I wasn't having serious cramps more like AF type aching then it was probably implantation bleeding? The placenta attaching itself to my uterus? I know nothing about this, and was hoping for some advice if anyone knows about this. I'm reluctant to google as I hate to think what I find. She said it could also be fibroids potentially, again not really sure how serious that could be. She also didn't think it necessary to check my cervix or anything like that and booked me an EPU scan for Friday at 9am.
I'm so worried at the moment and i just realised my boobs dont hurt at all anymore and I just don't really know what I should or shouldn't be doing and Friday is so so far away...
If anyone has had anything similar I'd be so grateful to hear it right now, I just don't know who to expect from anything or the scan.

Firstly

I've been there with cramping and spotting then it went away. That happened when I was 7+5w and my scan showed a little heart beat! Friday seems like an age away I'm sorry you have to wait so long to find out. Are you still spotting?
Unfortunately spotting/bleeding is apparently common place in tri one but it doesn't stop us from fearing the worst!

Rest as much as you can between now and your scan. I had a bleed at about 5 weeks pregnant, I went to the EPU and had an internal scan. We saw my baby's heartbeat at this scan. 5 days later I had a heavier bleed, got an appointment at the epu for 2 days later and had another internal scan. All was ok with my baby. Turns out I had a blood clot just under my placenta. I had brown discharge for another 5 weeks and it finally stopped just before my 12 week scan.
The nurse at the epu said to me she'd expect me to be in a lot of pain if I miscarrying but I had no cramps or anything.

i had a bleed when i was around the same time as you and had an internal scan and there bambino was soo tiny with a flickering heartbeat, also had a follow up scan at 8 weeks aswell to check all was ok.
Chances are its implantation, would AF be due about now?

Oh sweetie I've been there too, bright red blood for 3 days at 5w... Its so scary! In my case I had a scan at 5+5 and all looked okay but they couldn't find a heartbeat so I had an agonising wait until 8+5, when I was rescanned and saw a lil baba measuring exactly the right size for my dates with a heartbeat!

Bleeding is SO common in Tri 1 hun, pretty much every lady on this forum has had it at some point. It doesn't make it any less scary but hopefully just to reassure you that it can be totally normal and not mean anything bad. The wait is horrible but chances are they wouldn't see much on a scan yet anyway, that extra 3 days makes it a lot more likely they will see a lil heartbeat!

And don't go by your boobs either... Mine aren't sore at all, they were a bit at 5w but then that disappeared and they feel totally normal now

Chin up sweetie and think positive, I know how hard it is but it sounds like the bleeding is pretty light and you've had no cramps so chances are its nothing... Some women just bleed for no reason! Xxx

I've been there, had a bleed at 6+4 went to A&E and they did nothing just booked me to go to EPU for a scan which was three days later! Sure it'll be fine dw x

Thank you so much for all your reassurance and kind words. I'm still lightly spotting dark red blood and feeling really worried and sad, and to be honest a bit sorry for myself. Which in part is due to to the 4 black bruises in my elbows due to shy veins Luckily I'm not working at the moment and OH is demanding I do nothing but read and watch bad tv so I can get far too much rest between now and Friday.
On Friday, should all go well, I'll be 6+5. What are the chances of seeing a heartbeat?

I hope everything is ok hun, rest and watch lots of crap tv. You should see heartbeat if you are 6+5, I think usually you would see hb anything over 5wk. Xx

Thanks, so as long as I'm as far as I think I am it should be fine, if I'm not ill definitely be over 5 weeks.
I feel so scared that there won't be a hb or anything there or something.

Oh god I can't imagine a 2 week wait, 2 days is killing me!

hi there. i know exactly how your feeling. i had a slight bleed on mon afternoon, started a few red drops then pink then brown, went for a scan this morning and saw the baby with a lovely heartbeat the two days of waiting was awful but keep positive and just relax with your feet up. i was also told to lie on my left side to stop the bleeding. im 8 weeks 4 days. hope all is well for you xxx

Thanks so much for the advice and reassurance Been doing lots of sitting with my feet up, OH is a willing slave at the moment!
I was back in A&E this morning after a rough night with really bad cramps but no more bleeding, also feeling very hot and just unwell and developed a dry cough that wasn't helping the aches and pains. They took more blood and did a proper examination and put me on a drip for an hour and apparently I have really high hcg levels and just have to wait until my 9am scan tomorrow. Feeling much better this afternoon, think maybe the drip worked wonders as I've barely been able to eat for a couple of days.

I'm another who has been spotting on and off since 5 weeks, and all was fine with bubs at 6+3 and saw hb. I still worry but trying to stay unstressed for the sake of peanut.

Had a horrible nights sleep with bad dreams and almost threw up for the first time (being sick is a major issue for me). Hoping that after the scan everything will be good again.
