So yesterday arvo and last night the baby moved but not loads like normal altho i did sit on my ball alot of the eve as i had sum friends around. i was very worried wen i woke up at 3am and it didnt move like it normall does so i went and got sum cold water and that got it moving a bit and then wen hubbys alarm went off it did move a bit it again. Wen i woke up 7.15 it normally kicks a bit coz its hungry but again nothing till i had a drink and rubbed my tummy and it moved aound a bit and nudged me, now ive eaten breakie and drunk again i can feel it a little bit but not loads.

So my questions are is it normal to have to eat/drink to get it to move?? Is it just coz its running out of room?? Or cud it b my placenta i know its at the front and didnt feel any movements till over 20wks, is this making it harder to feel them now its bigger??

Sorry for so many qustions i am a bit worried and know you lovely ladies r fab at giving advice.

They do say as they start running out of room they will move less.. Perhaps baby was just having a quiet day. as long as you get your 10 movements I'd say baby is good :)

I worry about this too - I did the water and sweet cookie yesterday to get mine to move. Then today baby seems a bit back to normal!

I put it down to baby having growth spurt or lazy days every now and then, but it is a worry - aaagghhh!

xx

I was up during the night with heartburn and worrying no movement (although silly as I'd normally be asleep so baby may not even move at that time normally)

From 8:30 this morning I've been counting (if I get a few kicks in one go, count as 1)

When they say 10 in 12 hrs it seems a lot, but I'm already up to 10 and it's only been 4 1/2 hrs and I wouldn't have considered mind to be a big mover!

When your not counting, I think u miss a lot of them!

See I was told ignore the 10 rule because every mum and baby is different and to go solely on what you class as normal or not ... Weird how we all get told different things isn't it :)

I know it is confusing, you really can worry yourself over nothing! It's my first week off work and I think I've got too much time on my hands. When I was at work I wouldn't really think about it as I was too busy!

I think it doesn't helps midwife really harps on about it at appointments ... But it's very subjective and what really is a lot of movement? Xx

My midwife said 10 movements a day but that is way below normal for me I can sometimes feel 10 movements before I get to work! I've had a couple of days where baby has been quiet but the next day he's been more active. After the last one, I've noticed my movements have changed in the sense they don't feel like kicks anymore but more like a dragging sensation inside...like he's fidgeting rather than stretching if that makes sense? So I'm guessing he had a growth spurt xx

Baby may of been having a growth spurt! :-) plus running out of room. But if this is particularly unusual for bub & your worried give them a call. It's better to get checked out than worry :-) it's not a waste of anybody's time !!

Thanks everybody my mw said to ignore the 10 kicks thing and to go on what i know baby does but i think that that the movements have change and i need to get use to these new ones as its still moving but like you say its more nudges and rolling in there and defo pushing down into my foof lol. My mum said sounds like it has grown and running out of room she said if you dont feel it for a few hrs and cant get it to move with a drink or food then ive gota ring so im a bit more relaxed now.

God im such a worrier so cant wait for him/her to b here so i can keep my eyes on them lol.

A movement is a movement Hun- they don't have room to kick and boot us the further along we get- I've noticed mine are more like rolls and shifting sensations :)

What are we like!! ... I'm beyond myself the past 48 hrs barely any movement. Then when I think right that's it baby moves. I've put a lot of it down to growth spurts but this time, I can't help but keep thinking he worst I'm 28 +4 x

It really is such a worry i bet they r all cosy and warm in there sleeping away not realising how much they r stressing out the mummys lol.

My midwife said as long as baby moves more than 10 times in 16hrs then baby is good! she did say keep an eye on his pattern bit it will change and it has.. Hes now more active in the afternoon more so than he was at night so its best to go with your gut! if you feel baby isn't right go get checked out x
