Baby engaged?

Just wondered when everyone's midwife first started telling them how much their baby was engaged?

I had an appointment today and asked but she seemed too interested in allowing the student midwifes to prod and poke me I'm hoping it's not because LO hasn't engaged at all yet otherwise I think I'm gunna have to steal my cousins trampoline for a while

Is this your first?? With my daughter i think i started engaging about 36 weeks but with 2nd plus pregnancies you sometimes don't engage until your actually in labour!

I was speaking to a woman today before my appointment who is at the exact same stage as me and had been told she wasn't engaged at all yet

My midwife didn't tell me how engaged he is, but she said he's dropped and very low. That was when I was 33+6. I think it's quite early tbh?

look in your book. in mine it says "relation of presenting part to brim- N/E" whish is not engaged

It says 'head presenting, OP'

Any ideas what it means?

Mine said 4/5 at 34 weeks but i think he's in and out to be honest.

Jellyboobs - think it means occiput posterior from what I've read it means he or she is head down but facing your belly. Don't quote me on that though, I'd ask properly at your next appointment.

My midwife said she wouldn't discuss positioning until 37 weeks but my consultant beat her to it! Lol! As most second babies don't engage until labour they're not too bothered about it but I asked my consultant and he told me the engagement and then proceeded to explain the whole second babies/engagement in labour thing-again!

I'm now 37 wks and had a scan at 36 wks as they weren't sure how baby was laying (baby is a fidget) but baby is 'head down and is quite secure' but whether she meant engaged or not she didn't confirm either way.....
