Hi girls,

I'm going to buy a carrier for my baby as my little boy will still be using the pushchair.
Iv done a bit of research but there are so many to choose from,

I really like the look of a caboo and I like the structure of a baby bjorn. My friend had just bought a cheap mamas and papas one from Argos for £30 and she said it's great.

So if your using one could you tell me which one ?

I'm also wanting something easy to get on and off myself , and for it to feel safe while on and not flimsy xx

I can 100% recommend the close caboo, it was a lifesaver in the early days with my son. I used it loads around the house to settle him off to sleep so I could get jobs done, or just have a rest!

I would say to try and go for a soft structured carrier (like the caboo) over something like the baby bjorn if possible, as they will have more support for you and baby and are much better for babies hips and back. Try not to go for something based on price if you can help it, you may have to pay slightly more to get a 'better' carrier/sling, but they are so much better for both of you!

It might be worth seeing if you have a sling library near you, where you can pop along and try out a few different slings before you buy one. You can even hire them for a few weeks/month, usually for a fairly small fee. They'll be able to help and recommend something suitable for you :-)

Hope that helps.

Xx

I have the Baby Bjorn and it's not very ergonomic for the baby. You need something which doesn't have their legs just dangling. There is a simple trick with a scarf you can use to make the Baby Bjorn ergonomically better.

I rarely use mine and when I do its just for short periods but I still use the scarf.

It won't let me link for some reason but it's on You Tube if you Google "making baby Bjorn sling ergonomically correct"

What jenni said :)

I didn't like the caboo, and ended up getting a connecta. Slings/wraps are a mine field!! So many out there.

I had a bjorn (bought when pregnant and hadn't done much research then), and I liked it because it was structured and sturdy. I used to roll up a Muslin cloth to put at the bottom to make sure baby's legs didn't hang, as it's not great for their hips.

Try a sling library if there is one near you.

I've also got an ergo carrier which is fab, more structure to it than the caboo and can be used from newborn with the insert :-) xx

I have a Close Caboo and it's fab! The instructions are crap and you do have to YouTube videos but it's amazing! I had the Baba Sling previously and it was good in the early days but DS1 didn't like how restrictive it was as he got bigger.

I've borrowed a caboo from my friend to try it out but I didn't really get on with it and my little boy didn't seem to like being restricted by it so I'm glad I didn't buy one as I thought it would be great. My advice would be to go to a sling library and try before you buy xx

I had the nct caboo and didn't really get the hang of it, got a connecta and really like it
