I know there is a list in tri 3 for things to have for baby but just wondering about nursery list, hubby and I went shopping on the weekend but not idea what blankets to buy or sheets?!? Sounds stupid but as its our first baby we want to make sure we get what we need!

What have you got a
Moses basket, cot or cotbed?? Pram
Sheets are for Moses baskets and then cot and cot bed for the others

Either way I would get three or so none fitted pram sheet for under babys head that way if they are sick you only have to change the head bit instead of re doing allllll the bed lol!! I am having a cotbed and bought loads so I can fold in two and tuck down the sides haha and I'm doing the same down stairs with the Moses basket :-D and then I would get at least three if not five (coz you will have so much washing and cleaning ect to do anyway best to have plenty if you get behind on the washing) fitted sheets hope this helps then 3 ish blankets for ova baby and swaddle wraps are good too maybe two of them but not nessisary just make sure the blankets are long enough to either tuck under baby or sides of cot/basket so it don't go ova babys face - grow bags are fab!! Make sure baba is over 8lbs and off ya go :-D x x. X x x

I've just been thinking the same thing. I've no idea when it comes to blankets, I feel sort of ready for most aspects of having a newborn - but NO idea how many blankets etc they need to be warm enough and how many are too many etc. But, back to your question - my sister in law has just had a baby and she said that mothercare "bedding bundles" are amazing. Apparently you can get them for cot or moses baskets! xx

You can get moses basket fittet sheets in home bargains and cot bed fitted sheets in matalan a lot cheaper than mothercare, i would get quite a few, as my little man wees out of his nappy quite a bit! I originally got the baby sleeping bags but they are too big for the moses basket!

The advise for sheets/blankets is (as well as vest & sleep suit): -

below 16 degrees - sheet & 3 lightweigt blankets (number of blankets means layers, so a blanket folded in half is classed as 2)
16 - 20 degrees - sheet & 2 lightweight blankets
21-24 degrees - sheet and 1 lightweight blanket
over 24 degrees - sheet only or no sheet if really warm

cool thanks for that, I will be off to home bargains this weekend to get some, so far I have a moses basket but plan on ordering the cot at the end of the month just need to make a decision on which one I want. Our pram has a fleecy pram liner thhingy so not sure if I need blankets as well???

So far I have a fleecy blanket for the pram I think it is and that is all as well as some hooded towels. Don't want to buy unnecessary things that I may not need.............

i just got a push on i love my bear touch light so i can have a soft but bright enough glow at night time to feed baby by that way baby gets used to the dark and bedtime and i dont have to wake hubby up allllll the way through a feed and he will be happier in the morning and i will get a lye in hehehe!
