Awwww how exciting telling your parents. Mine are giddy with excitement and my OH mum is beyond that, she was pushing a pretend pram around the other day, as practice apparently! Ha.
Have you tried ginger tea or anything for the sickness? Xx

Your OH Mum sounds so like my Mum! That's exactly the kind of thing she would do. I remember when Mum and Dad were shopping for a new kitchen, Mum had to stand at the sinks and pretend she was washing up to decide which one she wanted!

Ginger biscuits and ginger tea were working but only taking the edge off it today!

I'm feeling a bit better thanks Naomi! Was awful this morning and I was feeling really miserable and grumpy, but I had a big cry and a lots of cuddles from OH and then felt better. I made a big saucepan of bulgar wheat pilaf and have been snacking on that all afternoon and it seems to have worked! Think I just need to eat plain food and little and often! As soon as I get the slightest bit hungry I start to feel sick!

I cannot believe the weekend is nearly over either, I'm just sitting here trying to finish my lesson plans for next week! I'm actually quite looking forward to work tomorrow, I always find the start of a new year with new children exciting! I've got a class of six 5 year olds all with autism and they are just sooo cute, even when they are being naughty!

I think you said you were going shopping for some new clothes, did you get anything nice?

Ah I wouldn't stress, I think symptoms come and go. Are your boobs still sore? That's my only real symptom now.

Is anyone getting a Doppler? Thinking of getting one but might wait til after the 12wk scan xxx

Aw that must be such a rewarding job. I used to work with autistic teenagers, which was really hard work so I take my hat off to you!!

Glad you're feeling better. I feel nauseas if I don't eat for a while too, although I have gotten off quite lightly on the sickness front really.

Didn't go shopping in the end!!! Was too tired! Went to home base to get some bedside lamps, then did the food shop and then came straight home as I was shattered!! No idea what I am going to wear to work this week...!

I'm finding it crazy how tired I am! I used to be able to cram so much into the day, now I find myself doing a couple of things and that's me done for the day!

I've felt rotten all afternoon, not been sick but really nauseous. Couldn't face clothes shopping either!
I've been really emotional today, putting it down to hormones. Went to look at some houses as we want to buy somewhere bigger, got an appointment next Saturday to go through the paperwork, so that's cheered me up.

I've been really emotional too and I had a really awful nightmare too! It was too complicated and surreal to explain but I woke up petrified and couldn't get to sleep for ages!

We are also house hunting, we were looking near where we live now, but then found out I was pregnant and so now we are looking at moving back closer to family! Did you see anything you liked?

I hate nighmares. I've definitely been dreaming more since my bfp. We were meant to be buying a cottage round the corner from my parents, I was in love but unfortunately it was structurally unsound (200 years old) so we couldn't buy. We went to see some new builds today as my OH had driven through the village and thought it looked nice. It looks fab, there is a primary school and Surestart centre which is now a plus. We're going to look at the Help To Buy scheme as from what we've read online we could get a really nice 4 bed for not much more than our current mortgage. It's pretty exciting but I don't want to get too hyped up. 2 weeks tomorrow is my 12week scan and birthday so I'm focusing on that. xx

Evening ladies. Not been about for a few days we got a cheap deal on a hotel so went away. However, I think I got a stomach bug or something as spent all of Friday night throwing up and on the loo. I felt soooooooo rough. Definitely don't think it was baby related. Still feeling a little off now.

10 days until my scan, can't wait now, just want to know if everything is ok or not. I still don't feel very hopeful

Dreams - I have been dreaming the craziest things, I wake every morning thinking 'what the hell was that all about??'

I had my midwife appointment today. Am being referred to a consultant because I'm 42! In other news, I hate having blood taken and ended up laughing hysterically throughout the whole procedure!

Hi Beckylou, do you know why you have to see a consultant ? I am asking as I am 42 first pregnancy and have seen my midwife but I am not being referred. I also have to give blood then have a combination test (scan and more blood) between 11 and 14 weeks, then depending on the results is if I go for the amniocentesis.

It's automatic referral to a consultant if you're over 40 here - but perhaps it's different in different parts of the country. Is this your first baby?

I got one last pregnancy could never find heartbeat but alot of ladies on here are loving theirs so I don't know I also read a women's thread that said she had slight cramping after using hers though xx

Yeh I'm kind of worried it would stress me out more if I couldn't find the hb. Might see how I feel after the 12wk scan! Although might be feeling movement a little while after that so maybe there's no point...

Month hopping! it was me with the Doppler blanco, a few march mummies have one and have loved theirs. I just had a bad experience I think but I'm gonna leave it now until I'm further on. Ill maybe wait til after midwife appt on 2nd oct and see where she finds it x x
