April 2021 Mummies!

Oh yay! Baby twins!

We got our midwife and scan letter in one envelope. I’m based in SW London and have gone with Kingston hospital. According to my pregnancy apps I’m 7 weeks today.

The waiting is a killer. I’m not a patient person

I am also not a patient person, this is my hell !

Did you guys get letters after you rang to book the 8 weeks appointment?
I rang my drs first, as everything always tells you to call your dr as soon as you know, and then she gave me the number for the midwifes to call and book the 8 week appointment. But I haven’t had any other correspondence other than that, maybe I will get a letter soon...

I rang my gp and the midwife called me up and hour later and said she will book me in for 7th sept. It’s really nice as same midwife my wife had and she recognised our name xxx

Hey. Mine took a week but they say it can take two weeks to come through. If not then ring them up again x

We called our doctor after I got my BFP and she suggested I take folic acid and vit D if I wasn’t already. Folic avid only until 12 weeks.

Then we had to choose our hospital and went for Kingston, filled in a self referral form online. A week later we received a letter with two letters, one for a midwife appointment on the 7th sept and then for the first scan on the 8th Oct.

Thanks guys.
I don’t feel like I got much information when I rang, the midwife that I booked my 8 week apt through did check I was taking vits and asked which hospital. She didn’t mention about me getting a letter about the appointments, I will wait and see if I get anything.

That’s really nice that it is the same midewife, hopefully that’ll help you Dee abit more at ease because you already know her

Hi Ladies I have just found out a week ago that I'm Pregnant and slightly scared! By my period I'm due on 27th April! Apart from very sore boobs and a bit of tiredness I have no symptoms at all! Very surreal xx

Hi everyone!

late to the party but my predicted due date is 15th April. I have my midwife appointment on the 7th Sept and then my first scan on the 8th Oct.

I’ve had sore boobs for weeks now - slightly better today. I only get really queasy if I need to eat. I’m going to the toilet a lot though! My sleep has been rubbish the last couple of weeks as I have to get up in the night to go for a wee...

Anyone else feel slightly nervous as they sort of feel pregnant but I haven’t had any cramps or stretchy feelings for a few weeks. It’s my first ever pregnancy and we took 7 months to conceive so I guess I’m just feeling nervous. Also didn’t help that randomly on the news the other day a woman told her story of going to her first scan to be told she’d had a miscarriage with no symptoms and the “product” was still in tact.
Welcome I'm due on the 13th so we're not far apart. I'm in London too. South but used to live SW before that. Twickenham, so not far from you by the sounds of things if you're going to Kingston hospital.

Welcome and congrats. I found for me symptoms didn't really kick in until week 6 but then in my last pregnancy I worked with a girl who was pregnant at the same time and had no symptoms at all (and baby was fine) so there's a real range it seems. I was well jealous but then it was hard for her in a different way cos she'd get worried that she should be feeling worse. First trimester is hard!

Ha I used to live in Wandsworth too! Just off East hill if you know it. Loved living there! I think it's got even nicer since they did up the old brewery? But not really been back much. We moved out to buy a house which is great and all but I do miss living more central.

it’s crazy how your body works. My sister got two children and she had sickness all the way through for both of them and they are boy and girl

Welcome to our newbies :) xxxx

Yup! It’s just up the road! How funny.

twickenham is gorgeous!

Great choice! I'm at Kingston too (a November mum) :D They are all SO lovely. I've been really impressed with the level of care I've had so far.

Hey ladies, it’s nice to see all your updates and see all the newbies popping in (congratulations!)
I had my midwife appointment yesterday where I booked in and got my bloods etc done. 8w+4 atm, hopefully get a letter through about my first scan soon. I’ve been placed under the “high risk” category and I’m a little worried, my last was “low risk” but there were complications during labour and apparently when they tested my placenta there was evidence of severe clotting which could have caused a still birth... now I’m all terrified! Anyone else been down as “high risk” before? What difference does this mean for my care? Any reassuring words will be appreciated xx

Welcome :) I've added your name to the first post Aurora. I'm in London too but North :)

Hope everyone is well. The weather is crazy here! Building work was due to start at our house today but it's been postponed until next week. It'll take 8 weeks to complete, if everything runs smoothly! Getting our loft done which will eventually be my son and this baby's bedroom :)

Sickness is still here like an absolute b*tch. I still get odd twinges where the baby is nestled. Tonight I've been freaking out about going from 1 child to 2. I've calmed down now and what will be, will be.

I'm 9 weeks today, 3 weeks to go!!! I've also been counting the days for the older kids to go back to school. Bring on next week :cheer:

I need to buy some new leggings and stretchy trousers. I hate the thought of wearing jeans when I'm pregnant.

I've also lost 10lbs in weight since finding out I'm pregnant due to sickness and not eating much.

I've not been high risk but a few ladies in my previous pregnancy group were high risk and I think they saw a consultant as well as a midwife and they had an extra scan or 2. They were kept a closer eye on than low risk.

extra scans and care from a consultant can only be a good thing right? Means anything untoward can be monitored closely, thank you x

Oh I have definitely not lost weight! Granted I never lost the last 15 lbs after baby 4 but at 6 weeks tomorrow it’s ridiculous, I need to break out the maternity wear seriously. Here I am sucking it in vs not!
