anyone here has their gallbladder out? Can't take morphine/pethedine.

Hi I know this is probably a rare case but I'm hoping to find someone who has experienced the same thing as me and can advise on what to do. I had my gallbladder out about 8yrs ago and since then I have noticed I get the same pain that I experienced when having gallbladder attacks, so bad that I am doubled over in pain. I have noticed that when taking codeine it brings on the pain. I have found out that codeine contains opiates and I think this is the cause. Which morphone and pethidine both also contain, so I was wondering if anyone here knows what other painkillers can be given other then these.? I can't imagine going through child birth without pain killers. And I don't want an epidural. X
