Hello everyone
Im hoping for a little bit of advice please!

Last Friday I had my show, and all throughout the day afterwards was suffering with constant lower back pain. I got checked out at the labour ward and was told all OK and given some codeine to take.

The pain continued throughout the week, and the codeine werent having the effect I was hoping. On Wednesday evening, I started with a thick sticky brown discharge that continued into Thursday, although had seemed slightly to clear up. The pains in my back and lower abdomen (same as menstrual cramping) continued, and again the checks on baby came back OK. They took 2 swabs and said it may be a possible infection, but I wouldnt get my results until 4th Sep!

My pain worsened yesterday, and the discharge was thicker and more frequent than before. At around 6pm I started getting 'waves' of pain every 10 minutes in my sides and around my lower back, that got worse and then eased off. I wondered if they were contractions, but as the tightenings werent in my stomach, I didnt know what to put it down to. I was changing my pad frequently, and had very little sleep lastnight due to the pain.

At around 11am today, the 'waves' of pain eased off, although I have still been feeling rather tender today, with painful twinges every so often. My discharge is still there, and its starting to bother me know as to why it has gone on so long.

I was hoping for some advice from anybody that may have experienced anything similar. After being checked twice in the past week at hospital to be just sent home again, I feel abit weary about contacting them again. I just dont know what to do! :?

Huni, looking at your gestation i would certainly pester your hospital again, what you have been describing sounds like very early onset of labour, not everyone gets labour pains around the tummy..

please please ring them and get yourself checked.. all the best!

Thanks very very much for your quick reply and reassurance! DH wanted to take me to hospital lastnight, but tried to see if the pain would ease any.

The staff at the hospital are lovely, I just dont want to appear to be a nuisance!

Once again, thanks so much and Ill keep the post updated!

Love to all

Yes I would get checked over again as surely it's not normal to have so much pain and discharge. Don't feel as if you are being a nuisance as that is what the hospital is there for and it's better to be safe than sorry. I hope everything is ok and don't let them fob you off.

i would follow the other advice - go and get checked out - you need to be sure it isnt an infection
