I'm fairly new on here but everyone is so friendly & it's great sharing stories.

My story so far is that myself & my fiancé have been together a few years now. I came off BC around April/May time I think it was last year.
We have not been actively TTC as such we were just not trying, not preventing in the hope I would relax & catch the egg so to speak. I ovulate every 5 weeks so it's been over a year now & this is our first month using opks & properly TTC.

Should there be any red flags or warning signs I should be getting already?! I know even the healthiest of couples TTC can take 12 months or more but if It doesn't happen by April next year that will be two years right? I don't know why I worry so much. I quit smoking last year & he's recently cut down on his smoking because he knows how serious I am about this now.

Is anyone else going through a similar thing?
Feels like it's never gonna happen

Hello and welcome

We've been officially trying for just over a year. It makes me feel a bit better to think of it that way as although I came off the pill over 2 years ago, I ended up being investigated for a high prolactin so I most likely wasn't ovulating until just over a year ago. I use OPKs, tried temping but couldn't really get on with it if I'm honest although lots of ladies on here do.

I started off with quite a chilled out approach but now we've been at this far longer than we'd planned I do find I go through a lot of periods where I just don't think it will ever happen for us. I've been in a more positive mindset lately so I'm trying to hold onto that!! I've also had a good excuse to improve our diet and lifestyle so hopefully that's a positive thing.

We've started going down the route of fertility investigations as we're now at a point where we need some answers. Although it's not been straightforward, overall it's been the right thing to do for us.

Good luck!!

Yep... been off the pill for over a year now
Never thought it would take so long :(
Going through the blood tests with the doctor to see if there is an issue BUY only 50% conceive within the first year so this is normal to take up 2 years x
