Any way of knowing it's a boy? Old wives' tales..

Hey, I've already got two girls and have been reading a few old wives' tales on the internet.

Just looking to know if any of you have experienced 'tell-tale' signs about the baby's gender? lol

I'll be happy as long as he/she is healthy. It would be easier if I had another little girl.. but I'm hoping for a boy to complete my family!

I have heard that girls maker a pregnant woman look a lot more tired but boys make a woman glow.

A friend of mine had two girls first and a boy third. Her first two pregnancy made her put on weight everywhere, especially on her thighs. When she was pregnant with her boy it was all bump!

I put loads of weight on with Rosie, this time Im all bump - I have suspected from day 1 that Im having a boy but didnt find out at the scan - we'll have to see!

how far r u? i was all bump, no sickness and high up with ma little girl but iv got sum fatty bits all over this time had loadsa sickness heartburn and very low down this time with ma boy. did u feel the same with this time as u did with ur 2 girls or were they pregnancies diferent? oh have u tried those chinese gender predictors they were correct the two times with me! hope u let us know wot ur havin xxx

I had two boys and was all bump like a bowling ball
Then my last I had a girl and got stuck with these love handles all round the side, and I know it sounds impossible but my hip bones seemed to change, after I lost all the weight, I could see my hip bones didn't fit into my skinny jeans the same, like pelvis or hips had changed shape!!! very strange

Thanks for the replies lol. I never put on much weight with the girls and I haven't put on much at the minute although I think that's because of the sickness, I'm ten weeks now.

I had a feeling with my first two pregnancies that it was girls but with my second I was told it was a boy the whole time.. even minutes before her birth they were monitoring her heartbeat and the midwife said it was 'slow like a boys'.. and when she came out my mum was shouting "It's a boy".. but it was the cord lol. Very funny.

I know what you mean yeah, it *feels* different this time.. or maybe it's just hope.

Oohh where would I get Chinese gender predictors?

I have 2 boys and would love to have a girl to complete our little family, but the same as you will be happy whatever as long as the baby's healthy, i gained 5 stone with both my boys and went from a 10/12 to a 18/20!!! i gained weight everywere but not uch on my face, i wasnt sick with either but didnt really glow but i did crave curry and chillies and cheese which i usually cant stand spicy food!!

My best friend is 22 weeks pregnant, has a round bump that goes to the sides, has craved chocolate, cake, sweets and biscuits and was really sick at the beginning which old wives tales all indicate a girl, she had her scan last week and its a boy - i could not beleive it, therefore i no longer have any confidence in wives tales and beleive you crave what your body needs.

Will you be finding out? i cannot wait, but have a feeling its another boy as im feeling pretty much the same as my other 2! 5 a side footy team in the making!!!!!

I'm like you Gem, I have 2 boys and would love love love a girl as this will be our last but I have a feeling it's another boy! All my pregnancies have been different. My first boy I was all bump, my 2nd boy I was convinced I was carrying a girl as I ballooned everywhere but nope another boy.. So I don't really believe in old wives tales lol

I have the same "cravings" as i had with my daughter and im putting on weight like i did wiith my daughter the only thing thats different is that my bump is lower but then sometimes its high up so i think its just a case of waiting, the gender predictors have been wrong both times with me (said boy with my daughter and girl with my son) x

I'll definitely be finding out, got my 12 week scan next Wednesday so I'll let you all know.. although I don't think they'll be able to tell.

At the scan with my second daughter, the doctor said girls are shaped like a hamburger and boys are more like a tap? lol ever heard of that?

I think ull have to wait till your 20wk scan. At my 12wk scan i could see my baby had a lil winky and loads of people was saying it was a boy but i didnt wnt to believe it was as girls and boys have a "Nub" which looks like a boy bit till about 13/14 weeks and it slowly changes thats y u can find out sex from 16weeks x

right from begining i felt mine was a wee boy but everone else thought girl so i did numerous silly wee tests on internet to find out wot i was having according to wifes tales just for a bit fun, and every time it came back it was a boy. i knew it wasnt definate though. im due my wee boy in 4 n half weeks so they were right for me. ive had six scans and 4 of them all confirmed it was a boy, so im in no doubt

i thought id seen a wee 'winky' as well at my first scan but the mw said that at that stage even girls bits stick out aswell and to wait till my 20 week. i was right though

not always true. im having a wee boy and i guess i glowed alright, through sickness and the high shine on my skin cause during my first tri my skin and hair was so greasey. pregnancy hasnt seemed to agree with me but my pal, pregnant aswell is having a girl and looks great. just effects everyone different.
