AMH levels

I'm gonna post here, even though I probably belong in the Secondary infertility section. But it's waaay to quiet in there.

So - I have gotten the result of my AMH levels, we are due to have an ivf attempt sometime this year I hope, but they seem low

They are:
9,2 pmol/L, which according to this webpage it is "reduced". But my eggs can still work can't they?

I'm having a rubbish day - rubbish eggs and rubbish sperm - not the best combination.

I have very low AMH levels for my age. It doesn't mean you can't get pregnant, it just means your reserves are lower than would be expected for your age.

My levels were 5.9 when last taken nearly 2 1/2 years ago. I am already perimenopausal (I'm 31) and was told I'd need IVF with donor eggs. But then in the next breath was told that I still had eggs so there was a chance I could still get pregnant naturally. Although I was warned I am probably looking at entering the menopause in the next handful of years so to get a move on if I want to have any more.

Hubby and I decided we would not take the IVF route to complete our family. We're going to try naturally and if nothing happens, I guess it wasn't meant to be.

AMH isn't an indicator of egg quality, just number... How old are you if you don't mind me asking?

Hi,
I am sorry that you are feeling down. I have a low AMH level of 7 I remember how upset I was when I discovered this but my consultant advised me to take DHEA prior to the IVF cycle you need to take it for at least 3 months prior to EC. I produced 12 eggs so if I need to do another EC I will definitely be taking the DHEA again. You need to buy it online as it's not available on the nhs.

Yes try not to stress too much over AMH, mine were only 1.48 and I concieved first time with IVF. There are plenty of success stories of ladies conceiving naturally with a low AMH level. From my understanding it's FSH levels that count the quality of your eggs

It ishard to hear but chin up! I had an AMH of 5.9 and I conceived first time with IUI. As the others have said its just the amount you have so you can still be successful!

I'm 29. I know it mostly indicates your egg reserve, but as your egg reserve decrease in amount, their quality also gets worse, at least when you get older, as I've understood it?

Anyway - I know I'm just being silly. If we manage to get another baby with ivf, I'll be thrilled, and if not, it was probably not meant to be. And we have done it before naturally, so miracles do happen
