Did anyone else find the name just came to them????

OH and I have been discussing names since about 10w as we struggled to name our cat

We had a few and OH has discounted them now.

I am well and truly stumped....

I am not asking for suggestions as no doubt my fussy OH will pooh-pooh them but just wondering how late people left it before finding the name?

I'm afraid with cesca FOB and I had all a name and middle name for both girl and boy by 18 weeks... lol I doubt it'll be that easy this time though lol xx

My LO went without a name for 5 days lol we had one picked but didn't suit him at all once we saw him x

Tapatalking!

Our niece (who ended up being an Alice) was un-named for a week!

DD didn't have a name for five hours after she was born!! It just came to me as I cuddled her and once I'd said it it fit her perfectly!
In contrast we had DS's name from 22 weeks!

My cousin and his wife had a nameless baby for a just over a week :) we have gone off the boys names we liked so now searching for more :( its a tough decision and one that literally is with you for life!! I hate the pressure of choosing. Don't worry though you and oh will come up with something :) x

Oh's friend and his wife didn't have a name for their baby for 6 wks after she was born. The only reason why they thought of one was because they had to go and register the birth!

We have a 'pool' of names for both genders, but can't narrow it down. And TBH, I haven't looked at the lists for weeks, and when I do, I'll probably hate them all. I'm planning on mine coming out with a name badge affixed...

We can't agree on a name either, so hard! I suspect our LO will be nameless for a few days until after we've seen her x

We have one name picked for a girl
Which is just a maybe and not one single name for a boy

I'm really hoping I'll just know when bubs is here!

Please excuse any typos from my fat fingers!
Tapatalk madness!

Thankfully we have a boys name!

Otherwise we'd be totally fooked!

It took absolutely ages to come up with a girls name as OH seems to hate every single girls name out there! Only reason we had our boys name was because we have both always loved it even before we met!

Although I am starting to go off our girls name a bit so might have to rethink!

We keep being told we'll find it easier when we meet LO, not sure how true this is or not?

I think it's good to wait for a definite name till once LO is here. I always had faye in my head and she wasn't a definite Sophie until a few hours old after we had spoken about the name choice.

My oh is pretty easy going so I got to pick the name, she has his surname after all lol, I had one picked.from when I was about 18 (29 now!) And then chose a different one with about 12 weeks to go :) Xx

DS didnt get his name for 3 days cos although it was on our shortlist I balked at it when he first arrived. Got over-ruled by hubby on all the other shortlists - but I do love it now

We also find girls much harder to shortlist. Hubby has agreed this time that I make the shortlist of 6 - he picks his fav 3 from that list. Could you both to do the same, list your fav 6 the other picks their fav 2 from that list and you have 4 to go with you, and hopefully one will feel right if you have a little pink bundle x

I wish this argument worked with OH but it doesn't!

So far the 3 names we did like have been taken off the table.

Erin and Holly don't go with his stupid surname and Charlotte will end up being shortend to Char which we both do not like?

So we're back to having no name....

I printed off a list so he could see a few names written down with his surname and see if anything jumped out at him.

It didn't!

I am pretty convinced bub is a boy so this could all be a moot point BUT we need a few names just in-case

CHarlotte could also be shortened to Lottie, Charlie, Carly, Carrie

Theres one nickname of my name that I dont like, but I'm never called it as I go by another. If you use another common nickname its rare for friends and family to use the one you dont like

We really dislike the abbreviations for Charlottoe (Lottie and Carly etc) and my nephew is Charlie

We'd personally not shorten it but as with most 2/3 syllable names they do eventually get shortened :oooo:
