Really hope so, 2015 is going to be our year!!

My family know but his dont. Didnt tell them when we first started trying just because they would get over-excited and a little glad I didnt as it has taken so long. But im now wondering if its time especially with maybe starting IVF. OH is not sure. They are always asking when we are going to start a family and whenever we have our niece or nephew they always make a joke saying we need to start practising! I know they only mean well and that its because they dont know what we are going through but its hard sometimes. Thats why I think its time.

Its tricky isn't it. You want them to stop asking questions which make you feel pressured and a failure but then if you tell them then they might keep asking how the treatment is going. I don't know if there's a compromise. You want them to be aware but sensitive and not mention it unless you do. But parents aren't like that!

To be honest im not sure I would mind them asking about treatment but then again if treatment doesnt go well its another person we have to explain our disappointment to . OH doesnt think they need to know as its "our business" but they are his parents! Im definately going to wait until after our first appointment and until we know what road we are going down then I will have a re-think x

Hiya. Sorry to jump on we've just had our first icsi and we've been ttc for nearly 3 years, for the first year and a half we didn't tell a soul, even when we found out we would need treatment as hubby was the same and very private about it all but I really struggled not being able to talk about it, thank goodness for the girls on this forum! But we have now been very open with both our families and close friends and its been a relief especially with having to go through the treatment process and it's really helped hubby open up and deal with the process so much more, it's amazing the support that's there it really does help x x x

Thanks for that, its certainly made me feel a bit better about the situation. And yes I totally agree about this forum, its a godsend! =) I think im definately going to let his family know once we know a bit more xx
