6 weeks and no heartbeat

So I went for my early ultrasound today due to being unsure around dates. Due to have a tilted uterus the sonographer couldn't do the ultrasound externally so performed a vaginal one. The results led to no heartbeat and she asked if I have had any vaginal bleeding to which I said no. She told me it is highly likley to result in miscarriage but they will rescan me in a weeks time. Has anybody has this sort of experience happen to them and their baby was ok in the end? Been an emotional mess all day, not sure what to think. I have no bleeding or abdominal pain and I still have symptoms, but apparently with a missed miscarriage your symptoms remain present? Any stories or words of advice appreciated at this time xx

Sorry I don't have a good story to share. I was six weeks six days when I went for an early scan as I was also unsure of dates. I also have a tilted womb and had internal scans. There was no heartbeat and I'd had no pain or bleeding. I had a further two scans over the next week to check if there had been any growth, but there wasnt. I decided to have surgical management for missed miscarriage as I couldn't bare waiting around for something to happen.

I had a scan with my daughter at 6+6 like yourself due to spotting. They couldn't find a heartbeat so I had to go back two weeks later and there it was beating away. Fingers crossed for you!

I had this at the beginning of my pregnancy, thought going by my own dates that I was atleast 8-9 weeks however when I went for my first early scan, I was earlier & there was no heartbeat just a little empty sac. They didn't say an awful lot just to come back in 2 weeks. And there she was tiny little heart beating. I'm now 30 weeks. Keeping every crossed for you, it's hard to be hopeful after being told what you have, but I really wish the best for you x

Thankyou everyone for your uplifting messages. Cannot begin to describe the worry. Feeling paranoid my breasts aren't painful anymore yet my lower back is hurting, especially after a walk with the kids. No bleeding or cramps though. Will keep this post updated and shall hopefully have some good new Wednesday xxx

I think it's fairly common for there to be no heartbeat at 6 weeks especially if your dates could be a few days out so I think the sonographer is jumping the gun a bit. Good luck x

I am In the same position as you, I think the sonographer was being very unfair by giving you only the worst case scenario as it is still feasible at 6wks not to see much. Especially if dates are off etc. I ovulated late so am hopeful this is why mine couldn't be seen (re scan in 2 weeks). Fx for you for Wednesday and take care of yourself. Xx

I think the sonographer probably wanted prepare you and I'm sure there was no harshness meant.
I would remain hopeful and hope you get the news you want to hear. Really good there's been no bleeding so think positive

Thankyou everyone for your posts. The days are truly dragging and every little symptom I'm questioning constantly. So far still no bleeding but feeling rather 'wet' down there... it's clear and doesn't smell unpleasant, read alot online that it could be sign of oncoming miscarriage but also that it's a normal symptom of pregnancy. Don't think there is any telling apart from symptoms. Will keep this thread updated on Wednesday with results xx

Hi, I went for an early scan a few weeks ago due to a bleed I also had an internal scan as baby was so small , around 5 weeks. There was no visible heartbeat but she assured me that you wouldn't be able to see one yet, so I'm to be re-scaned this Friday.
Try and stay positive, I know it's super hard when your so worried xx

I'm hoping everything is alright. Today is just gonna drag out, so glad I have a 9am appointment though, so won't have to wait too long to find out.. Had very very sore lower back yesterday, honestly thought that was going to be it and I'd expect a bleed, but nothing, just vanished by the evening. Boobs are still slightly sore but my nipples seems to have lost their dark colour? Not sure if this is me slowly losing my hormones? Still not losing hope though xx

It's so easy to read into these things, like when we did while TTC! Symptoms do come and go and if you're not feeling great emotionally you'll see things where they aren't. Definitely stay off google and hold tight until the morning. Fx for you x

it is very hard for them to date you so early on - so you may not be as far as 6 weeks, my first scan i just had a sac they wouldnt confirm the pregnancy i went back 2 weeks later and there was a heartbeat etc i am now 32weeks pregnant

dont lose hope - and dont use dr google! my worst mistake during the whole pregnancy.

i had very little symptoms, but i had an early bleed and i had cramping which is why i got scanned. hopefully this is your sticky one xxx

You ladies are absolutely right about Google and I'm definitely guilty for using it! Lol I'm just happy there's no bleeding or cramping so far and the back pain I was feeling yesterday has subsided. It's been the longest 4 days of my life. Will keep everyone updated xx

Earlier today bleeding has started with small clots. Not looking hopeful. Still no abdominal pain but lower back is feeling the pressure. Shall still go scan 2moro like they said but I'm not looking at it to be good news.. xx
