they can ask you to leave in the first three months trial without much of an explanation.... they can do it if they feel you aren't right for the job

Just get EVERYTHING in writing. I had to go to my union last year for wrongful dismissal (different to unfair dismissal) and had plenty of evidence in writing, which gave me a great head start.
