Hi I am 35 weeks tomorrow and feeling stressed about labour. Everyone seems to brush it off because this is my 4th baby which is frustrating to say the least. I'm really tired and fed up today too, I don't feel I've enjoyed this pregnancy at all. My moods have bedn awful but my midwife is not great....
Anyway I'm worried as my last birth was only 40 mins!
Any mums out there who have had a 4th and how did it go?
1st labour 12 hrs boy 6lb 6oz 2 days early
2nd labour 5 hours boy 9lb 4oz 6 days late
3rd labour 38 mins boy 6lb 6oz due date
As you can see they have all been different, my main worry is not getting to the hospital which almost happened last time!

Any advice would be lovely. Thank you xxx

My 3rd and 4th were together ;)
So I can't really comment, completely different situation.
I'm sure you'll be just fine hun x

I'm on my 4th but different to you.
My friend had her 4th birth, like you she had shortish labours. She booked a homebirth. All went well, her partner was there, her mum, and her other children. But the midwives got there about 5 mins too late. But it was all ok. They'd gone through what to do if that situation did occur.
She was just doing her thing, it was after school. The it was like, the baby is coming and he was born soon after that.

I'm just saying what it was like for her, don't want to worry you.

Have you thought about a home birth?

I think that every labour is so completely different, regardless of how many you have had.
My first was very long, second was quicker, 3 & 4 were twins and it was atrocious, worst experience of my life. 5th baby came quickly and was the best x

Thank you, I'm not allowed a home birth as I have a high blood loss during labour and my 2nd son 9lb 4oz was stuck and I had a bit of a tough time. This time I have been going for growth scans and he is predicted to be a 9lb baby. They have said its not safe if I stay home as I suggested it. I feel really dismissed by everyone, nobody seems to want to talk it through. My midwife is one of the dopy ones that gets on my nerves. Going to try and talk about my plans again when I see her next month. Thanks for taking the time to chat, I'm really thankful xx

I'm interested to know how other 4th time mommys got on too, this being my 4th. It's been a long gap (9years) since my last birth so don't know if this would make a difference too. A couple of friends I've spoken to who have 4 children have said their 4th labour was their worst and wasn't straightforward at all - whereas I would have thought by your 4th it would be much easier. This has worried me a little, tho I know every labour is different so you can't know what is going to happen xx

It's a shame you can't opt for a homebirth :( I think that's one of the reals my friend opted for it.
I think as a general rule, the more births you have, the easier they get.

It must be hard to know what to do. I do hope your midwife is helpful in coming up with a plan that you are happy with.

Are you worried that you will have your baby en route?
