3rd mc

I’ve just had my 3rd mc.

1st mmc Feb 2014
Mc Oct 2014
Healthy daughter sept 2015
2nd mmc July 2018

This mmc was EXACTLY like my first one. Baby stopped developing at basically the exact same time (6weeks) Saw a heartbeat at first scan but baby measuring small for both and both had a
Hematoma.

I can’t just blindly accept that there’s nothing wrong here and this has just been chance that this has happened again. It’s such a long and drawn out process and absolute mental torture. I had to wait 9 days between scans to find out whether baby had died and I don’t know how I can do this again. The NHS won’t give me any testing because my daughter was born in between so they just keep saying the ‘1 in 4 pregnancies end in mc’ line but that’s cold comfort when only 1 in 4 of mine has ended in a baby and I watch how easily al my friends go through it.

I don’t even know why I’m posting this or what I’m looking for. I guess I’m just venting.

I’m so sorry to hear of your losses. Regardless of the fact that your had your daughter in between of course you still want some answers and an explanation of why this has happened. One of the things that’s so horrible about going through recurrent loss is that you lose the excitement that someone who has never had a loss has with a pregnancy and it’s replaced with worry and fear instead. Ive been through three losses now and we are building ourselves up to properly try again but we share your feelings of not wanting to go through it again. Just know you’re not alone and we are all here if you need to talk xxx

I am so so sorry Rainbow. There isn't much I can add or help with but we are all here for you. It is so hard when the GPs and professionals just fob you off all the time and you know something isn't right. May I ask if you tried baby aspirin at all? Because of the hematoma I wondered if it was perhaps a clotting issue? You have probably been told that before I just wondered if you had tried it. I am sorry for your losses though, it is so hard but just know you aren't alone in this xx

So I’m probably a nightmare patient. But I managed to get my gp to run bloods for recurrent mc even though I’ve ‘only’ had two by quoting guidelines written by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology who state that you should consider testing after two and they don’t have to be consecutive. I also quoted that the national institute for health and clinical excellence state you should provide individualised care and I felt that in my individual case I warranted blood tests

They probably wrote pain in the arse in capital letters all over my notes but it got me the tests I wanted. Although they didn’t actually find anything except I was low in folate

im also just had my 2nd consecutive MC at 5 weeks... first one this may and second one now... still happening... im devastated. ... i donno whats wrong with me

i had one MC jan 2015, then a very healthy pregnancy with my son who's 28 months now, i totally feel you
