I've been put on an initial 2-month round of Atorvastatin which will require blood tests at the end of the month. They've just given me month 3 to continue with.

You can't get pregnant whilst you're taking Statins, rather, you shouldn't :(

If it turns out I need to take the statins for the rest of my life I don't know what to do... I'll obviously have to take a break from them during pregnancy which means it can't happen 'naturally' which was our preferred method. I didn't want to be one of those couples who lives with an ovulation chart and thermometer next to the bed.

I think the statins are working though as I seem to be exuding lumps of fatty deposits out of my skin. Is that normal? Anyone else had to have statins before?

I had a cholesterol reading of 6.8 and it's meant to be around 3.5 for a healthy fat to blood ratio.

I've had high cholesterol for years now, I'm 37 and a size 6 no family history just naturally high cholesterol, mine was measured at 9.6, I'm not the best at remembering to take it and sometimes have been off my statins for months at a time. I changed drs and they put me back on after it came back about 7 I think, but as soon as I spoke to the GP about IVF he took me off all my meds, and wasn't too concerned, just said I could start taking them again later down the line. Now I don't recommend just stopping any medication that's been prescribed for you so just speak to your GP, there are plenty of women on statins who want to get pregnant, the dr will advise you the best course of action for you.
