For the last week I been feeling my top left wisdom tooth coming through and it hasn't been too bad, but yesterday I woke up and my gum is really swollen and my glands are up. Like I can actally feel the little glad thing an move it about!

Just wondering if there's anything u can use in pregnancy for it coz it's just throbbing! Ive never had one through before... If there isn't anything I'm just gonna have to man up but thought I'd see if anyone knows, I heard it's quite common in pregnancy!

Paracetamol - lol. You could maybe try bongela, but thats just me guessing hun, don't take my word for it! Toothache is a bitch at the best of times but when you're pregnant and all you can take is sodding paracetamol, it makes it worse :(

Hope the pain subsides for you soon

You can definitely use Paracetamol, but I was told I couldn't use Bonjela when I had a bad mouth ulcer. Clove oil is supposed to be good for toothache, but you'd have to check with a pharmacist to see if it's safe during pregnancy.
Because we are entitled to free health checks it may be worth calling your dentist for advice too. Toothache & earache are the 2 worst types of pain in my opinion, so really feel for you hun - hope you feel better soon.

Just Googled Clove Oil & it's a big "no no" during pregnancy. I'd take Paracetamol & call your dentist x

Haha... Thanks for doing the research for me!! I keep sucking an ice cube and getting a blob of toothpaste and leaving it on to cool it down which helps! Il probably ring the dentist if it gets worse. In the meantime il prob try a paracetamol... Thanks xxxx

Hey, I suffer from this too, and its awful - makes my entire cheek swell up, lol!

You cant use Bonjela, for some reason, it does say on the packet, not suitable for under 16's/pregnant women. However, boots do their own version, think its called sore mouth gel, or something....that didnt have any warnings on it, and could be used for teething babies as well. It was blimmin stronger than bonjela though, and didnt taste as nice, lol! But try looking for that.....

Hey! When I was pregnant I had this exact same prob and just took paracetamol. It took the edge off but wasn't what I needed! My grandad told me to put a cotton wool ball soaked in gin on the tooth, I just didn't have any gin! X

Thanks for the advice ladies. Lea554- I am going into town Wednesday so I will have a look for that thanks! Flexilexi- Haha I love how grandads and grannys have all these little homemade tips, my nan is full of them and they all involve some sort of alcohol or olive oil! How random!

Gin is a cure for loads of stuff by the looks of it - I remember when my daughter came home from nursery with headlice, my dad told me to wash her hair in gin to get rid of them..

You may possibly need it out, if you're in that much pain you should see a dentist otherwise it can cause problems to your other teeth. Unless you're 100% it's coming out straight then you should go to be on the safe side. :) Mine are coming through at the moment, no pain whatsoever but it is hard to chew without it being uncomfortable.xx

when mine were coming through my bottom right was causing so much pain and my face was all swolen, i ended up at the dentist and he said that when the start to drop they leave a small hollow space behind for a while and it can quite often get infected, which is what had happened to me! this was last year and luckily for me they are all good now!
though befor i went to the dentist i had painkillers and a special mouth numbing gel, cant remember what it was called but it was really good! numbed it completely! dont know if you'd be able to use it while being pregnant but chemist would know!

my mum said our wisdom teeth come through when we should be having children as it enables us to sympathise with our babies when there teething! hope you feel better soon!

When mine came at me at christmas just gone I just used mouthwash, didn't really take that many pain killers just put up with the soreness x Hope it eases off, my new dentist saw me after in jan and told me to call back for a clean up once baby is born hehe x so happy about that x

Thanks! I have rang the dentist today and played it up to be a bit worse than what it is. Just wanna see if it's growing out the right way really as it's throbbing and a gum is still a bit swollen! I'm going there tomorrow so not too long to wait! Thanks xxx
