Will I regret this?

My sister and I are very very close. We live 300 miles apart but we speak every day.
She has an eight month old daughter and I haven't seen her since December. My sis can't really afford to come and see me, so it looks as though I may not see my little neice until she is 11 months old (a month or so after my baby is born). I am quite sad about that, as she is growing so quickly.

My OH has suggested that we go down this weekend as he is keen to see my sis and her family too (he gets on very well with them).

I am very very tempted, but I am bit worried because it is a 6 hour car journey on a good day. We could take precautions like wearing my flight socks, drinking lots of water and having plenty of stops. I am pretty fit and well, just a little tired.

What do you think? Would you do the journey? Am I mad?

i would and id sleep the whole way its a great excuse to jst sit there for hours n not have to do anything... i hope u do go n have fun

I would go hunni. Make sure you take all your comforts, pillow etc so you're comfy for the journey - dont forget your Maternity Notes!! :D Have a lovely time

xx

I travelled loads last week visiting family. I did a 9 hour car journey from here to London, a 4 hour 3 days later to Plymouth, then a 10 hour back home 5 days later. (All as a passenger)

I found it to be fine, my feet swelled up a bit but apart from that it was fine. Just be prepared for plenty of loo stops :D

And I think it would be much easier going now than travelling with a small baby.

Id go for it.plenty of fluids, sleep on the way and stops every now and again and you should be fine.take maternity notes with you and just relax and enjoy :D have a great time :)

I would go in the morning, stop somewhere for lunch and a wander round, then drive the rest of the way.
If you're talking about only going for a weekend - down Friday night, back Sunday night, I personally wouldn't. But that's because I'm in so much pain and I know it's aggravated by car journeys.

Id do the journey too hun and just set off early, and take all your home comforts. :D

Yeah no reason why not!! Wud be easier now than with a young baby too :)
