Hi All

I had my gorgeous baby girl on 11/09/12
I was induced due to reduced fetal movements at 38 weeks and ended up needing an emergency c section when I was 6cm. I was all quite traumatic but all is forgotten now - I just wanted your opinions on whether or not I will be offered an elective c section next time around. I am asking this as after everything there is no way I would have another if I had to have a vbac?

Thanks

Kim

I think that you wud be recommended to have a csec in anycase, obv if you wanted to do it vbac then you can but they prefer you to have a csec!!

Thanks - do you know if that is standard after a section or does it depend on why you have had your section?

I think you will be offered an elective c-section. My friend had an emergency section with her 1st, and was offered an elective with her 2nd , which she took.
Maybe different areas are different tho... But one of my friend who is currently expecting had a difficult delivery, and her son ended up with shoulder displacia, she has been offered a c-section too.xx

As far as I'm aware, if you have had a c section, you can elect to have a section for the next baby.

I'm in 2 minds, part of me wants another section, as I had a fantastic recovery, but part of me wants to know what pushing the baby out feels like! I had 2 failed inductions before my section, and was contracting for days, and I certainyl don't like the idea of doing that again, so opting for the c section is tempting for me! x

I had a semi elective section and was told whilst still on the table I could have a vbac x

i had an emergency c section with my first and although ive had normal vaginal births after that, ive also been offered c section if i wanted x

I think it depends on the circumstances. I can have a vbac next time, but may be able to have an elective.

my second was a planned section, i have been told next time because i have only had the one section i will be given the choice of another planned section or a vbac, since ive experienced both vaginal and roof top i know i will be pushing for that section.
