Wii Search

Hi,

I know people were talking about trying to buy a Wii for Xmas but I just wondered if anyone had any tips as my nieces are hoping to get one and they've tried a lot of shops with no success. Anyone order one online as I don't think they've looked into that?

I ordered a Wii off the HMV website on Friday and paid extra for Special delivery so it would be here in time for the birthday boy.
Earlier I went on to track the order and to cut a long story short I ended up on the phone and was told that even though on Friday HMV had stock it was all used for people on the 'waiting list' they had 65 delivered on Friday, Im apparently number 384...
So, you can imagine how angry I was that they took my order and money letting me believe it would be here soon, at no point was I informed they were out of stock.
So I'd watch with ordering off the internet...HMV did tell me I could cancel ir but they couldnt tell me when I'd get my money back so for just now I've left the order with them
Im MEGA mad!

take it to watchdog see if others have complained thats not on and damn right deceiving

I know, if they are using all the stock they're receiving for the waiting list they really shouldnt even be advertising that they even have any in stock. They were still taking orders an hour after mine as I phone DH to tell him I got one and his mate at work ordered one.... I wonder what number he is on this list they have, lol!

Gamestation seem to be the best at having new stock.

I would just make a list of numbers of local stores like Comet, Game and Gamestation and ring them at 8.30 everyday. Game take paymenst over the phone, Gamestation kept me one for 2 hours so I had time to run in and get it.

If you have family you will see in other parts of the country you could try asking them to look. I tried to get one for OH in Aberdeen for completing his PhD and there were none anywhere at any time as far as I could see! Then we went to Edinburgh for the weekend and everywhere had them - HMV, Game and many more! That was in the summer and OH's friends all over the world were struggling to get them and there were loads in Edinburgh. But with Christmas coming up maybe everywhere is behind on stock

Thank a lot ladies, I've passed on your advice. You'd have thought that they would have managed to make enough of the things by now wouldn't you?! Or is the demand higher than they thought? I guess it's because of Xmas as when we bought ours in May there was no problem.

The demand is very very high for these - we get a fair few deliveries of these at argos in derby - we got 30 the other day and the same day they were sold out again!

i heard the guy in gamestation today say that most of there shops are getting stock every weekend

their keeping low stock on purpose. they do it every time. its their game plan and it works. they know loads of people want them so they keep low stock. makes people look around more etc.

I think Gamestation has a deal with Nintendo

I got mine from there and the guy said they get loads in, like 30 at a time, other places, even Argos get 5 if they're lucky.

when we was looking at beginning of this year or whenever it was even gamestation had sold out.then argos sometime only got the maximum of 1 or 2 in and we booked one on the net. i practically told my oh to book it and we had to go 30mins away from our area to get it. never been there before and me being pregnant at the time was a nightmare lol
