:wall2: I phoned my docs today to check that my gynie referral letter had been done as I'd heard nothing back and wasn't sure what to expect as I've never been referred to a specialist in my life.

Docs told me that the referral letter had been sent out on 5th August and to phone appointments at the hospital to find out what the craic was, they gave me the number so I was happy enough with that.

BUT.... when I phoned the hospital they did confirm that they had my details and told me who I'd be seeing but she was just so shitty about it, like I was causing her major inconvenience just by asking. I was like  sorry but I've never been referred anywhere before so I wasn't sure what to expect. She was just an arsehole and I hate rudeness!! The shite I have to listen to in my job and I'm still not rude to anyone!

Pointless rant but it got right up my nose:shakehead:

Get arsey back!! It's the only way. Doctors have God complex's. You can't blame them, i think it comes with the job, but they do feel a lot is putting them out and need to be dealt with firmly!! Give her a metaphorical kick up the bum (or a real one and blame it on hormones ;-))

 might have to be the real thing,!! She was only the bloody receptionist or whatever tho ggggrrrr

Oh Merlin! They're even worse!! I cant tell you the number of times I've had to get really shitty with our docs receptionist!! They think they are Cerberus (3 headed dog guarding the gates to Hades). I tried buttering ours up and being really friendly, but she still treated me like a bad smell and did a lot of huffing, now I use my 'posh voice' on her, I channel my mother who speaks only in 'received pronounciation', and order the receptionist about. She's beginning to get it now! They think they have all the power - you have to put them firmly in their place!! LOL - go girl! x

Yep! She wants to try a day in my shoes where you have do deal with being sworn/spat at and people doing their best to headbutt you in the face - that'd learn er!!!!

 What do you do??

I'm a rozzer

:oooo: *hides*

Lol I'm just kidding :)
My flatmate's ex was a copper, or well, kind of.... she was a prison guard personage, and she absolutely terrified one of my mates, had him on the floor in cuffs and tears and everything

Ha ha, brilliant. Then strap on a pair and get the truncheon on the stroppy cow! You are an extremely valued member of society. Feel it!

I have to say I really hate bad manners too. I am one of those awful people who are rude to shop assistants, but that's because I've been one and I used to try to HELP people, I knew the stock, I pretended to be interested! Why should they get away with their attitude of 'I could care less' or 'dunno', I give them short shrift!

The thing that makes me really really angry is people who are rude to waiters/waitresses. They work their arses off most of the time (it's ok to be rude to the really lazy ones), in a low paid, hard work physically demanding job. I once read in a dating book "If a man is nice to you but rude to the waiter, don't see him again". Best advice ever!! I think it's the reason I left London, so many people have their heads up their arses.

Im a shop manager and im as cheesy as they come ha ha "Hello sir" "no sir" 23 bags full sir but if someones arsey with me its "And.... what do you want me to do about it?" Hate arsey people with a passion, no need for it. If im ever arsey with someone i feel soooo guilty!

Next time, if someone is arsey with you, just ask them why.....they just look like a complete knob as they have no reason!! Ha ha xxx

^^^^^^ I may just do that. Something like: "I'm sorry, have I said something to upset you? Is that why you are being so rude to me? I do apologise if you are inconvenienced by me but it is your effing job after all"

There is no need to be rude to some one simply enquiring about an appointment. Its a recaptionists job to deal with such enquiries afterall xx

People like that piss me off so much :poke: How hard is it just to tell you what you need to know nicely?! Surely it'll make their day so much more pleasant too if they're not spending all their time being horrible to people!? And isn't that part of their job?!!

Well that's what I thought, but hey who am I??? Thing is, I'm not just going there for the craic, it's to find out if there's something wrong with me, which must be on their notes there so you though she could've handled me a bit more sensitively. Fact is I'm fine with everything and just taking it all in my stried but I could've been an emotional wreck for all she knew. Biatch.

Exactly...you'd think they'd be far more sensitive considering that 99% of the people who phone up are probably not even close to being relaxed about it x x

Pft, she better hope she's not there when i actually get my appointment cos her cards will be marked from here on in

Thanks
I'll update - hopefully with more positive vibes - when I've actually had the appointment I may take my little friend Gloria along for some gentle persuasion.
