hi everyone,

I am only 5.5 wks pregnant, but thought I would check out the pregnancy section at waterstones yesterday. Ended up confusion myself silly with the amount of books available.

Can anyone recommend a good, no nonsense book? I am more interested in facts like what is happenning to my body, what to expect, diet, exercise, etc, rather than someone telling me how I should be feeling/dealing with emotions.

thanks a mill
xx

'What to expect when you're expecting' is the classic and I found it pretty helpful. :D

What to expect when you're expecting - brilliant!
Answers to every question you could think of!

I had this and it was my BIBLE! Helped me catch my early labour signs and the fact I was in premature labour. Would highly reccomend to anyone x

I had the first one too.
I think the second one is the American version.

yeah when i saw the title i was about to post what to expect when you're expecting, mine dosnt look like either of them, mine has a black and white stripey cover

baby and beyond. I love this one, and it also covers baby's first year too.

am i the only one that got the miriam stoppard pregnnacy and childbirth? haha

i quite like it as it has everything including development stages at different weeks of you and the baby..

Im using the first one aswell.
I would recommend it to anyone :cheer:

I had one that covered pregnancy the first year and had recipes for your baby as they have solids up until they are toddlers. Also has family recipes so if you have a 2 year old and a baby eating solids it has meals which you can all eat. It's really good and I love using the recipes still. I don't tend to use the book for the baby stuff as I pretty much went on my own instinct but it is a brill book and handy for looking bits up. Only problem is I can't remember what it's called! Only cost me a fiver though!

Edit: This was the one I had: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Practical-Encyc ... 0754810941 It was brilliant! but look out for it in places like the works cos it's only a fiver and huge!
