Which part was the most painfull

I managed the contractions fine , it was pushing the head out but only because it burned so bad around my entry to my foof! like a stretching burning , esp near the front bit. But then as soon as i had pushed her head out it was like relief and the rest just pops out. I had no pain relief either. Afterwards i had a brave look down below and i was black and blue esp my clitoris (sorry if tmi) and that was the part that was burning ans stretching. No tears too x

in my first preg the contractions he was posterior ( bk to bk ) n the baby has to turn all the way round then the ring of fire from the head pushing out then the mw rubbing my stomach cause i was hem then the anesthetist sticking an injection in my foof to stitch me up.
second baby just the whole labour i didnt get g&a untill 25 mins before birth but he was out in mins unlike my 45 min push with the first.
this time im having an epidural if poss :)

Contractions were the worst part for me as I was induced they were pretty intense and close together. The pushing part only lasted a few mins so I didn't really have time to deal with it. You'll be fine though, I was completely dreading labour and it wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be xx

The worse part for me was the burning sensation as her head was coming out, but it didn't last very long and the feeling of your little baby actually coming out of your body is just indescribable!! Don't be scared, I loved every second of it and cannot wait to do it all again!! Good Luck xx

For me was the contractions, but they werent painful more that i couldnt get comfy no matter what my position, i then had diamorphine, then later on epidural. With the epidural i could still feel everything but found it bearable, just felt like when i was pushing he wasnt coming out which was frustrating. Don't be worrying yourself i know its easier said than done but your body takes over and you just deal with the pain...and its not forever, and you quickly forget about it once your lo arrives :) good luck xx

For me it was the last few contractions before pushing. I had a 22 hour labour which was ok and didn't need pain relief bar some gas n air for those last few before pushing x

For me it was the babys head.come out for sure. I didn't find the contractions too bad - got to 9cms at home by myself with just the tens machine! Got to hospital and had g&a for about 20mins before starting to push which tool about 40mums before baby made a very painful appearance.

Probably when the contractions were at their most intense, i ripped off the tens machine as it wasnt doing anything now, the gas and air was a pure distraction and i felt like i was about to drop a hippo out of my arse!

Pushing was more relief than pain!

The most painful bit was before the epi, I was swearing when I was 6 cm cause the pain was so intense

I'd say the pushing. I just used gas and air and I found the contractions just about managable with that. But they took the gas and air off me for the pushing part :( xx

Wow great to see so many of you managed without drugs or just with gas and air :)

Im trying to tell my self that its just pain and i have to just deal with it but then I think of what a state I was in when I had my coil fitted and if I couldnt cope with that how will i cope with labour and get my self freaked out again LOL

Guess it has to be done no matter what though

On the up side the Anestitist ( sp) has said he is happy to do a epi if i decide it want one but will need to meet him for examination just to be sure. At least its a backup should i need one but realy dont want to unless im in a right state with the pain

Well only 11 weeks to go so had better get over it :)

I found the last couple of contractions before the pushing part were worst, managed on gas and air though, had a small amount of morphine about an hour before pushing as madam was back to back and it was really painful, they were hoping the morphine would help me relax and her to turn, it worked! The pushing part was not bad at all, was a massive relief in fact!

The worst bit for me was the pressure, it felt like I needed a really big poo. I was lying in bed having this pressure and contractions so I was told to get up and lean over the bed standing up. I did and even though it made the pressure worse, it also helped speed things up as this caused my baby to move down quicker, so after two contractions standing up, I was put on the bed quickly and the next thing I know I'm pushing her out :D Standing up definitely speeds things up, so even if you don't feel like it (I certainly didn't) stand up anyway and it will be over in no time :)

The pressure wasn't painful, it was just extremely uncomfortable but it was definitely the worst bit for me. The crowning didn't hurt me, and neither did pushing my daughter out, it was a relief to push.. just like having a poo! xxx
I was too busy pushing her out to even think about pain, It's amazing what your body does hun :)

Edit: I went through the whole labour on just gas and air too! I was terrified of giving birth, I cry when I'm popping a spot on my face, so to pop a baby out was a big challenge for me, I didn't think I could do it. xxx

I gave birth to Charlie standing up!! was so much more comfortable than me lying on my back! x

I had an epidural after 60 odd hours of no sleep. I think the most painful part was the tear afterwards. It got infected and I could hardly sit down :(

For me the recovery was the most painful. I had an episiotomy and a separate 3rd degree tear. I was in theatre for over 2 hours after my son was born and it took a year before I felt ok-ish again. xx

the pushing was a killer for me! the contractions were a walk in the park for me! but i suppose everyone is different :)
