i just saw m2a's post in tri 2 about a bargain she found today. it made me think about when i will start shopping for stuff, i think i'm probably going to leave it as late as poss, what is everyone else thinking? should i be grabbing the bargains too? i don't have a clue lol xx

I bought my first wee bits today. I couldn't resist, I have been desperate to buy something so I bought some vests, sleepsuits and hats. I actually could have gone mad and bought loads but I think it will be nice to do it in small bits. I will probably end up buying loads though. I had a private scan on Thursday so have been reassured that things are progressing well and they dated me at 11 weeks 3 days rather than the 10 weeks I thought I was so that's what made me want to buy some things.

yeah i think once i have a scan and i am about 11/12 weeks i'll feel ok with buying things but didn't actually think about it until tonight! there is part of me though that wonders whether i will wait until very late! its going to be so exciting buying things though, i can't imagine going out and buying vests and hats for my own baby - still not sure this has all sunk in lol! xx

It was a lovely feeling buying some things today. My hubby even said to me he is looking forward to going baby shopping. This really made me excited he hates shopping lol. Knowing he's excited too makes it even more fun.

I'll be waiting til after my 12 week scan before buying anything I think. Having said that if all is well on my early scan on Thursday I know I'll be tempted to buy stuff - but I'm going to resist :) I've noticed all the bargains too and wondered if I'm missing out  xx

yeah, it would be a shame to miss out on the bargains, maybe im kidding myself, maybe on the way home from my scan i'll be stopping off at the shops!

xx

First time round I didn't buy anything till we were nearly 20 weeks - I just didn't feel comfortable buying anything before then!
This time round, because we have all the big things, buggy, cot, bassinet, changing table, lounging chairs, high chairs , floor gyms yada, yada, yada - so much stuff!!!, I'll probably just buy some fresh baby gowns., baby gros, vests etc.... once I hit 30 weeks (fingers crossed). To be honest, I don't really need to buy anything at all - but I will!!!

It's a real industry - baby equipment, so be prepared to part with a lot of money!!! But it's sooo much fun :)

I definitely don't want to miss the Summer bargains :/
There's a lot on at the moment. Especially with the Asda baby and toddler event.
My mum was going to buy us a moses basket the other day, it was only £8 from £20 I think.
She was going to get it for her house when the baby is round, which would be ideal! She didn't get it though.

Me and OH already have two teddies for the baby that we got before we got our bfp.
We always go to the baby section in shops and as tempting and delightful it is, I think we'll wait until a later stage into the pregnancy.

xxx

I wanted to wait until around 20 weeks before I started buying stuff, but in reality it just doesnt happen like that. You see everyone else with their babies at the shops, you see all the "50% off Baby Stuff!" signs, you let the cuteness get the better of you and you end up buying stuff way too early!

Well, I did anyway :) xx

we are planning to wait until 20 odd weeks, but i did buy a hooded towel the other day... so cute and so soft!! my sister in law and cousin both have 2 year olds and 4 month olds in boys and girls, so i have bee told not to buy anything until they have parted with al their stuff! they have sterilisers and bottle warmers and high chairs etc!! and TONS OF CLOTHES!!
i am planning on buying nappies, baby lotions, baby wipes etc (things that dont go out of date) from 20 weeks onwards to build up a stack of them.... my aunt did it and she said it was the best thing she did because she never had to worry about that stuff once baby was there.
I am waiting until 20 weeks though as i dont want to jinx anything xxx

I am allowing myself to buy one thing after early scan and then start to gradually buy stuff after 12 week scan

I'm not planning to buy anything just yet. I hope we will get given quite some stuff anyway by my brother in law and by my parents (they sell clothes, including baby stuff). We will probably buy a few bits, but not just yet - there will be plenty of time for that. I'm not going near any baby shops yet.

The only baby things we already have in the house are 'My baby's journal' book that my husband got me as a present, and a bag of free baby goodies that we picked up at our 12 w scan...

I think once the 12 week scan is out of the way I will start looking at little bits. I think each month I will buy a few things instead of a load of stuff in one go... couldn't afford it anyway!

I dont think theres any harm in buying the odd wee outfit, especially if you see something reduced. It adds to the excitement. I've not bought anything for this wee one yet, but thats because i've been too busy buying things for my holiday, when I get back I wanna buy my first wee unisex outfit, i'll be nearly 17 weeks.

So most of us are thinking we might start after the scan. I think that's what I will do :) xx

I can't wait for all that, it's so exciting! Baby clothes are sooooo adorable. I'm not really interested in all the sensible necessary purchases though

I bought my first thing right after my 12 week scan (a little sleepsuit), and haven't really bought much else yet - but have already received LOADS of things as gifts from people :) xx

I haven't bought anything at all yet so I might start shopping when I'm in tri-3. My mother in law will be coming a month before my due date to help out so we can go shopping together :D. She's already bringing some baby clothes for older babies (6mth +) but we can still go shopping for the newborn stuff ;)
