PB I wasn't the best at it but OH was, he's got more patience than me where I'd just panic lol. I wish I could remember when I got it but I'm sure it was actually after my scan. Which was at 12 weeks. I have recordings and videos of it but they say 17/18 weeks on them. I know I heard her heartbeat at 16 weeks with the midwife and she wasn't happy that I wasn't more emotional about it. But I'd been hearing her heartbeat for a bit so it wasn't the first time xx
Sarah yes they're safe. NHS advice is that the dopplers are safe but that people can pick the wrong thing up, either thinking their baby is fine when it's not, or that something's wrong when it's not. You just need to learn to recognise what you hear, since you can hear the baby, your heartbeat, and the placenta wooshing. But it's up to you if you feel confortable doing it xx
